At last I took my V of the road and onto the beach. The V is very capable on the sand, didnt even take some air out of the tyres.
Drove about 5Km on the beach when I got stuck in realy soft sand.My friend who drove a Rav got worried but I yelled not to worry,im in a V.Reversed out perfectly, didnt see if the back wheels were spinning for the real time 4wd. but I felt them kick in after a few seconds when the front wheels slipped. But the irony,my friend's Rav with 4wd got so stuck in the sand and I had to help him get out :D .So much for his 4wd.The trip was great and I have a lot more respect for the V.
Heres some pics. The last picture is where I got stuck and infront of me is my friend, who got stuck right where he was standing.

Looks like a fun time. Another point for the win for the Cr-v Vs. Rav4 Debate.
Is that a camera attached to the top of your bull bar I see?

It was fun,I still cant believe the Rav4 got stuck in such a way that I had to push it out where my CR-V got out on its own.
Yes it is,its a ACT2K action cam.I use for my paintball games to.I figured since I have no camera man Ill have to make use of that cam.Recorded the whole trip on the beach, through water and sand.

Well if I can find a way to reduce the 2GB video and post it then yes I will.Dont know if youtube will accept a 2GB video. But Ill put a link on here as soon as I figured it out.
Weird question but how do I get the "Originally Posted By" part in the quotes?

On my or any other persons post. Look at the bottom right of the box. it will say "quote" click that and you will be taken to an instant reply, where you will see some HTML with the original statement. Type your message afterward and it will show up just like this message did.

Beach as in ocean mate ;). on the west coast of New Zealand.
its about 10km pf pure black sand beach. the tide almost caught us halfway in, thats why we had to turn back but we made it out. yea all down side is the cleaning, my driveway is still black of all the sand. but iy was fun, defintley worth it.

Can't argue with the fun part. Or the beauty part. So would driving it into a wall at low speed to see how well it holds up.
Unless your Aussie CR-Vs are made out of stainless, I do not think I would ever drive my everyday vehicle into the ocean. But then that would be just boring old me.

Yeah, the guys down under like to live dangerously, don't they? I remember seeing guys at Daytona Beach get into trouble waiting too long and the tide coming in. An old geezer like me is too faint of heart anymore to attempt that! I'd be a lot more comfortable in a full four wheel drive with flotation tires.

It looks like you had a lot of fun.
My CR-V has seen sand once or twice in North Carolina... :)

I figured since I have a waterblaster a little water would be fine, did drive through some fresh water ponds and a little river so the salt water shouldve come off.I wont drive in salt water deeper than my brakes , no way.
But I had fun and Im defnitley going to do it agian. This time Im going to call somebody at the beach to get the precise tide times.I dont wana get stuck on the beach with the tide haha/

But then where is the fun in it?
I think you should drive blind folded while trying to text on your phone. With you foot duct taped to the gas pedal and an angry Africanized bees nest on your passenger's seat. Not knowing anything about the tide on a moonless night.
Now that sounds like fun! :D Let me know when you are going and I will join you!
