Has anyone got their Diesel fuel injectors flushed out by Honda dealer.

If it runs fine, I would not do it!
You can do a similar job using a high quality additive but it will take a while. I think there is a review of fuel injector cleaner additives on line. X40 or something like that. It is very expensive too BTW.
Why is the dealer exactly suggesting it, to make a profit?

I went to dealer today and asked what they used to clean injection system, I was expecting him to say "yes" we have a machine which plugs into the injection system. Well their answer was, 8 pounds a bottle, you put in in the tank the next time you refill. Yet they tell you not to use fuel additives of any kind. What up with that?

I should have wrote why I need injectors cleaned. I'm getting a some smoke on start up which smells like fuel and I think injectors need cleaning. Smoke goes away after about 3 seconds.

Jim, most truckers use these additives. You don't put the whole bottle in at once, only about a onz. per fill-up depending on the size of the tank. How long have you had your diesel CR-V and what year? Remember diesel smell:D they always have, but I agree they are getting better! Have you talked to the Honda people yet. Hal

Had truck about two weeks now, it's a 2006 model with low miles. I see you said to use a ounce of cleaner with a tank full, Dealer said to use the whole bottle which is about 12 ounces.

Well it is possible you use the bottle, just read the instructions. I think Radar gave you good instructions! You have to get used to your trucks ways. Keep us posted as we don't have a diesel in our V's yet. Hal:)

Buy a large bottle of Lucas Oil, it is a fuel additive. I use it in my gasoline CR-V and in my work Ford Diesels. 6 ounces per 25 gallons, use it for two or three times. I use it all the time, it was recommended to me by my mechanic. He put a quart in a chevy (my mother-inlaws) that had a sticky fuel pump, cleaned it right up and it is still run smoothly. I forgot you are not in the US. if you can find it, you can order it on-line, which is what I do.

Lucas oil? I will have to look into that.
I just normally use the Chevron Techron or something like that with a tank of gas. It used to be about $2.50 for 16 oz of the concentrated cleaner at Costco. But since the oil went up in price it now is about $4 or $5 for the same size. I am not sure if it is recommended for diesels.
I am a little skeptic about it getting rid of the white smoke though. I supose it is possible.

It looks like it is not diesel compatible after skimming the site...
