Winter tires

Will bite the bullet and buy winter rims with the TPMS sensors. Does the dealer charge $100 to reprogram the sensors every time you change rims? Also, do Toyo winter tires last longer than Michelin ICE ones?

If you have a specific tool as discussed in one of my other posts you do not need to go to the dealer !!!!

Cost of tool 150 dollars.

Please remember to write down the ID numbers of the TPMSs that you will install before installing tires on the rims.

The dealership where I bought my TOYO,Honda steel rims,TPMS. Does not charge me to reset the monitors.However it is a 4.5 hour drive one way to drive there. When I researched tires I read that the Toyo's would last longer and have better ice capabilities as the compound is throughout the tread and not just on the surface like other popular brands?? Tires work well for me and am starting on my second winter on them and appear to me new in tread.

Shop around and you will find pricing on sensor reprogramming will difer. My shop only charges $20 plus roughly $35 to swap the mounted rims and tires over.

Then using this tool will save you 9 hours of driving !
