2008 crv 2.2 ex

Im new to the site

Ive had my CRV 2.2 dtci EX since march, i had a 2008 2.2 ctdi civic, it has the same engine but i much preffer the CRV.

I got the oil light came on and proply stopped at a gargae and filled it up with castrol disel 5W40 i think ,although it was semi synthetic. I ran it for a month then i was told it had to be fully synthetic, or damage to turbo could happen, panic!!!!!!!!!

Promply bought 0W 30 Fully synthetic and an oil filter. I drained of the oil oil and started to look for the oil filter on the car?????

I could not see it. I then looked at the oil filter in the box, not a normal canister oil filter???. Its a "fram" filter its called, i think.

I looked for ages but eventuially had to give up against my better nature and put in the new oil. Car is running fine.

But the question remains where is it and where does it go???????????

Please somebody shed some light on the matter!!!

Is your 2008 V not still covered with warranty? Should not be going thru oil like that, all though you did not say how many miles or Kilometers you have driven on that oil! Hal

Just woundered did you ever find out where your oil went ,
my crv had to be replaced because of a oil leak in the oil filter housing ..

If it is still under warranty contact your dealer. Google is a good resource too
