Copper CS4 or Goodyear Assurance

There are many posts here with multiple tires listed.

The tire I'd prefer to go with is a Michelin Latitude Tour. However, they can't be had for a decent price in my community. I can order from TireRack but then get gauged on the install.

I'm down to the Cooper CS4 or GoodYear Assurance FuelMax. I want a tire with decent snow traction (Northern MN), Quiet ride and much better treadwear than the OEM.

I DON't want a tire that compromise MPG (but who does). I've heard this to be a problem with some. I appreciate any recommendations.

If I lived in Northern MN I would probably opt for a dedicated snow tire to deal with the 3 months or so of bad road conditions. You won't get as good of response from ANY all season tire as you would from a dedicated snow\ice tire. That being said...I have the Cooper's on mine.

How do you like your CS4s? From what I'm finding, it seems that they are a pretty quiet tire and actually rated pretty well for snow. Any negative impact on MPG?

No negative impact on MPG...I don't know why there would be. They handle great in the rain and modest snowfall that we get here in Metro Kansas City. As for quiet, it's all relative as I didn't see much noise from the tire as so much as the regular wind noise the shape of the CRV makes.

coopers are nice ride just put 4600 miles on em
i zeroed sized
see my post from 225 65r 17 to 235 60r 17
when you check mfgs specs the tires are same diameter but the 235 are 1/2 inch wider sidewall slightly shorter but hight the same as oem conti's

saves 25 bucks each for the 235 60's

crv handles better vs orig conti's when new
i don't know more rubber wider stance look cool

regards

I just got a set of Cooper CS4's here in Omaha, NE and they are significantly better than the OEM Bridgestones. Ride is a little quieter and it is an 80,000 mile tire so it should last a long time. Got 26-27 mpg when I took a trip to Illinois so the mpg seems to be about the same or slightly better.

We just got about 12" of snow on Tuesday and Wednesday and I got around great. Last year with the OEM's it didn't even seem like the V was AWD and with these tires, it gets around great. I would highly recommend the Cooper's.

I paid around $585 for mine with Nitrogen inflation.
