For my 2006 CRV-EX 2.4l ? Also stiffer front and rear sway bars? Putting on Toyo Proxes 225-60/16 using stock wheels. Also got an adjustable chip from ebay vendor, I cannot really feel a big difference. Next either staight K&N or cold air if i can find it.
Thanks:D
What brand strut bars did you put on and how much (if you don't mind me asking) did you pay? I want to put on a front and a rear strut bar too.

Thanks:DThere is no need to install an aftermarket strut bar on a 2nd gen (2002-2006) as it already has a factory one.
I don't believe anyone is making stiffer sway bars. You can go with urethane bushings, at the expense of a much harsher ride and beating up on your suspension components.
Please post the link to the "adjustable chip". It probably is nothing more than a resistor that fools the ECU into thinking that the intake air charge is cooler. This makes the ECU belive the car is cold and sends extra fuel to the injectors. It can trash your catalytic convertor from the extra fuel.
K&N and cold air intakes ONLY work to give you more power at FULL THROTTLE. They do absolutely nothing at anything less than full throttle.
They are nice in that you can clean them and quit buying new ait filters and throwing away the old ones. Beware though that some cheap ones let more dirt into the engine.

My 2006 CRV-EX 2wd does not have the strut tower brace. I had a Miata that I autocrossed and put one on that tightened up the front end. On the CRV there is nothing but space and you can see the tops of the towers. So did they forget to put mine on? lol

btw, I'm new and wish to say a big hello to all from rainy, about time, Florida!

Sure it has one. It is located up close to the firewall. Look close. It's just like my wife's 04 and my in-laws dual 2006's. It doesn't look fancy and is painted black.

Most times, a strut tower brace isn't noticable by itself with regular driving by most people. If you also add bigger sway bars, then you can see more of a difference, but depending on the car's suspension set up, it might not be as noticable as you are expecting it to be. Just be careful because with aggressive driving, these changes will tend to offset your car's weight distro which may be a tad un-nerving until you get use to it.

This one is tough to see, see the bar that runs at an angle from the strut tower towards the firewall?
I tried looking on cardomain, but no one with a second gen seems to take any pics of what's under the hood!

Here is where I got mine, but that was 2+ years ago. Their prices are higher now.

When I put a front and rear bar on my civic I noticed a huge difference. I wouldn't recommend buying any ebay chips.
Thanks for the link 2redv's. I can see the strut bar in your pic, I wish I had one.

The 1st gen ones go almost straight across from strut tower to tower. 2nd gen ones go from strut tower to firewall and back to strut tower. They may be better.
Did any of the 1st gen models come with a strut bar? Maybe the SE model?

Did any of the 1st gen models come with a strut bar? Maybe the SE model?Nope. Sometimes you can find a used Neuspeed one on eBay or CraigsList. If you get a used one, go to a hardware store and buy new nylon locking nuts, grade 8 preferred, for them.

You can get by wuthout the locking nuts and use Loc-Tite, I would recommend using both and torque the nuts to specs.
