Another Tire Thread, Which Ones?

Hey guys, well my V now has 25,000 miles and the original dulers are gone. I am looking at getting some new tires but I need help deciding between two different ones.

From what I found out I need 215/65R16. I don't want to change the wheels at this point so I want to keep the 16.

I have been looking at 2 tires. The General Grabber AT2: Grabber AT2 (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=General&tireModel=Grabber+AT+2&vehicleSearch=true&partnum=165TR6GRAT2&fromCompare1=yes)

and

Green Diamond Tires: Icelander (http://greendiamondtire.com/productswest1.html#)

Everyone has great reviews of the icelanders, people love them. But, I want some cooler looking knobby tires. The Grabber AT2s are also very highly rated and people also love them.

I am stuck here. My parents said they would pay up to $100 a tire and that I could get something more if I paid the difference. My mom is really pushing the Green Diamond tires, they sound like a great idea, but I think they look too plain and regular, minus the diamonds of course. I like the way the tread looks on the Grabber AT2s. Would those big knobby tires look weird on a CR-V though? What do you think I should get?

Thanks,
Derrick

Green Diamond Tires are actually retreads so I would personlly go with a new tire model. The Grabber AT2 is a good option to consider and another great model to look at is the Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S. This model comes standard with a 50K mile tread life warrenty and offers great ride quality as well as on and off-road performance. Here are a couple link with more details:

Yokohama Geoladar A/T-S 215/65-16 (http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/findTireDetail.do?pc=43457&counter=1&ar=65&rd=16&sw=false&cs=215)

I can testify to the Geolander AT-S. I've had them on my 06 for over 40K mi and they still have a good 5-8K mi on them (according to my tire guy) They have been a very capable tire in all conditions on and off road in wet, I have never lost traction (until recently) due to wear. I am looking to get another set when these are up, but I am also thinking about going with something a little less aggressive that will last a little longer. If the Avid TRZs are anything like the AT-S I may go for those next. But Yokohama is a great brand in my opinion

Yokohama makes great tires. I too would avoid the Green Diamond tires. Sounds like all gimmick, no substance. I have Yokohama Avid TRZ on my V right now, and I love them. Sure, knobby tires look cool, but consider road noise and where you will REALLY be spending most of your time behind the wheel. I like A/T tires too, but all I do is commute really so a nice, low noise radial is what I chose. I don't regret it.
