Hi, everyone. I'm new to this forum. I 'm a New Jerseyan living in Japan. Just got my ride on Tuesday. Thought you might like to see the little differences between US and domestic model. The picture with the white device in the glove compartment is called ETC. It allows you to drive through highway tolls without stopping (credit card is charged electronically).

Cool wheels, & the door handles look like they are out of the 50's. Will you be able to bring it back to the US when you return?

Thanks, Black Pearl. I'm pretty much over here for good (and plan to keep the ride for at least 10 yrs), so it didn't even crossed my mind. In the near future, I'll try to take some photos near the ocean, mountains or even a Japanese shrine.

Thats nothing new. We have had that on the 407 in Toronto for a few years now.

BTW your CR-V looks hot. I love the JDM model. Spank a Mugen on there I tell ya.

love the side mirror features of a regular mirror and blindspot mirror and the side indicators, I definately feel that should've been added to the US models

Thanks, everyone. If I win the lottery, I am definitely going to get the Mugen kit :) I am really happy with the car. My only regret is not getting the leather heated seats and top trim ZXi ( EX-L equiv.)

Those side view mirrors look awesome and the rims are sweet as far as OEM goes.

Hey, nice pics. I would just like to see more pics from Japan period. Like the other cars in your neighborhood in the background. Oh, and Illinois has I-PASS and it does the same thing at tolls.

Hi, JediMaster.

Thanks for the reply. I really don't know about importing the signal lights. I guess you could ask your Honda dealer. I know it's marketing but it's funny how they decide where a particalar option/design goes.

Nice. Anything different with the engine/tranny?

SmoothRide

Same engine/tranny as US models. I think the UK models have manual transmission and diesel engine. I guess the big difference with JDM is the standard features and options. For example, moonroofs are out of style here, so it's an option. And Japan is a relatively small country (roughly size of Montana), so cruise control is only available on the top trim. Fortunately, fog lights and 8 way power seat (lumbar support) is standard on all trims.

BTW, if you people are interested, I just called the parts department @ the local Honda Importer(Greece) and he quoted 520 euros + VAT 19% for a set of 2 complete ready-painted(from the factory @ the car's colour code not at the dealership's paintshop) EDM mirrors. They are electrically adjustable/retractable, heated and the mirror glass is curved @ the edges to cover the blind spots plus the famous integrated turn signals ;)

520 euros + VAT 19% for a pair of mirrors?

I know mate. The Greek Importer is so big & rich that he doesn't really care.
He offers NO discounts and he doesn't bring a new model unless the previous one is out of stock. Honda is not even in the first top10 of brands sales-wise because of his pricing policy.

We got the same mirrors in europe aswell, and for you guys who want thiis on your US car, I suggest you order it from Germany or Belgium. They are pretty cheap in european terms as far as I know, but probarbly expencive compared to what you are used to in the states. I live in Norway, and the prices for cars here are ridicolous. As a comparesin, I'm about to pick up my brand new 2007 CR-V 2,2 CDTi 6 speed manual executive with full nav, leather, heated seats etc. this Wednesday, and thats gonna cost me a whoppin' $ 88 752,-....

Smoothride, is that a whistler silver? It's beautiful anyway, congrats! I have to say though, with all the japanese tourists I see always having a ten pound camera around their necks, you should probarbly be able to borrow a camera with a bit higher resolution?:D :D

Yeah, it's Whistler Silver. Sorry about the pictures--took them with a PDA. Hopefully, I'll get a couple of days off soon so I can take some serious pics in the countryside.
