the factory arm rest is NOT very comfortable so u don't want to purchase one for the passenger side and the "fold"down tray is pretty useless in MY opinion.
i have found MANY after market consoles but don't want to make the wrong purchase. can anyone tell me the perfect console that will give me adequate storage , hold a cup securely AND is high enough to actually rest my arm on it.
OR simply the next best thing if it isn't recommended that i remove the drivers armrest.

i also have a question about brush guard that i will post in the exterior section

If you remove either armrest - you are left with a hole in the seat fabric!
Best bet is to go to some local to you salvage yards and look at mini-van center consoles. Let us know what you find and post a picture. This question does come up occasionally and I sure others are curious.

I am going to go ahead and bump this up TTT; I have a similar want.

I have a 00' EX 5speed, it came with NO armrests from the factory. I purchsed both a few days ago and they should be arriving this week. I will do an install with pics on those of course.

However, unlike the OP, I want to keep my fold up thing in the middle AND my armrests that I just bought. If anyone has some suggestions on something small that can fit in between the seats - far enough forward to
1) avoid the base plate of the e-brake and 2) avoid conatct with the factory-swing-up-cup-holder thingy when its folded down

If this doesn't get any attention then when I find a solution I will make a new thread with pics of course. This has come up a few times and all I have found from searching is people squeezing the Element console between the seats and that is something that I wouldn't want to do, not to mention it doesn't look right at all and its a different color.
