I would not have dared to try that in either of our 2 V's.
ps - i hope you changed the rear diff fluid after that deep crossing! the breather must have been underwater.

should it be replaced on it after going deep?

Yes, your LX has a breather. It is # 5 with the tubes 7 & 8.
