Where are your pictures of your V in these parks? :)

Well it is not much of a park, municipal park with ballfields and a few picnic tables, but here is the Black Pearl in Emerling Park, Indiana Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

We got locked in Blue Spruce Park, Indiana County, 2 years ago while Geocaching. We had to call 911 to get us out. Surprisingly, we didn't get a ticket.

ok... so this isn't a park but Here are some pics from when my wife and i took the CRV off the road in farm country in upstate NY.

The CRV handled wonderfully on the wet grass, through mud and on wet slightly rocky pathways.

(I think my next investment will be a brush guard)

Here is my v the day after I bought it (used note the Lexus license plate) beside Lake Madision in TX. Couldn't wait to get off the paved road!

Working away from home has meant that I have not been able to use the CR-V , so just after its first years birthday service, I thought it high time to try it off road. Equipped with a flask of hot coffee and a decent trail map, we decided to head off into the hilly north part of England, the 'Pennines'. The routes taken encompassed grass track, gravel trail, and latterly (unwhittingly on my part), a peat bog!

The CR-V performed brilliantly, reaching 2500 feet at one summit, through severely rutted terrain, the diesel engine making light work of the steep inclines and deep rutts, however, nothing had prepared us for the slightly scary event of passing through a peat/mud bog with the stock 'Dueller' road-tyres!

The final part of our journey took us through a very deep bog - sufficient to say the water mark hit the height of the plastic door trims! The stearing went very light, all I recall was hearing the noise of muddy slopping sounds from under and around the vehicle, coupled with my partner repeatedly saying 'don't stop, just don't stop', just as I though 'heck were really done for', it was as if somebody was gently pushing us out from behind - a very wierd experience - indeed the 'Realtime' had indeed kicked in, and gently we slowly climbed out - traction not returning fully for quite a while until the Duellers had rid themselves of the clogged muddy mess. (And what a mess!).

So, we've acquired a set of new alloys, and am thinking of some more robust tyres to fit, maybe Grabber AT2's, the story here really being that we are extremely impressed with the CR-V! I hope to post some more pics soon.

Here's a quick pic of my '97 V at Sibbald Point Provincial Park up here in Ontario, Canada.

The park certainly isn't the most "Terrain" intensive, but it did make for some pretty muddy wheels! I kinda liked the pic too!

I will be taking it up to a part of this province where I should be able to get some great pics soon.

At one of the local Geocaching summits here near Barrie, Ontario Canada, we were out all day setting up cache locations and bombing around bushes and hydro corridors. This pic was snapped by a friend of mine who was helping. It was funny when she mentioned that it looks like my other friends are about to steal the V and take off!

This was pre-pirelli Scorpion ATR tires. Even at that, she stood up well to the dirt and trails!

Not the greatest photos in the world, but attached are some photos of the Black Pearl in McConnell's Mills State Park near New Castle, Pennsylvania. We made a new Waymark (similar to Geocaching) of the McConnell's Mill Bridge.

This huge gorge was cut by flood waters from melting ice sheets during the ice ages. A detailed geological explanation of the gorge can be read here:

http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/topogeo/parkguides/pg4.pdf

Here is the Waymark we created for the covered bridge:
McConnell's Mill Bridge - Covered Bridges on Waymarking.com (http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WM4408)

Here is additional information on McConnell's Mill State Park:
Pennsylvania State Parks - McConnells Mill - PA DCNR (http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/stateparks/parks/mcconnellsmill.aspx)

All the driving was on roads in good condition so I have no 4WD tales to report.

WOW some really awesome pics.... Black Pearl I'm totally jealous... When I lived in NY we used to travel out to PA all the time for camping trips - but back then we didn't have the cr-v... hopefully when I move back to NY in a year or two I'll be able to take beautiful drives through PA and jersey..... UGH FL is so freakin flat it's sickening.... The only cool thing was being able to drive on the beach- BUT i don't even think that's allowed anymore... when i drove on the beach i drove my xb .... ugh and that wasn't much fun.. HAHA.. love all the pics they're awesome..

He has posted so many cool pictures of Australia. The ones on the beach last summer were phenomenal.

The place I was at would be a long haul from NYC. It is about 18 miles east of the Ohio border.

oh heck yeah.... the furthest i've gone is to hickory run in PA... but i've always wanted to take a drive out to Cedar point it wouldn't be too bad to pass thru that park.
