I bought the 16" steel wheels that Tire Rack recommended and they worked fine. I got 225/70R16 Bridgestone Blizzaks which Tire Rack also recommended. I can't comment on snow performance because we didn't have any appreciable snow. We did have some nasty freezing rain and the V handled like it was a hot August afternoon. I couldn't believe it. One time I went up my steep driveway thinking it was wet and almost fell on my can when I got out of the car.

You will have to go with the higher profile to keep the tire diameter up for the odometer and VSA. I did not get sensors with the wheels. It turns on the TPMS Icon on the dash and you can't turn the VSA off, but otherwise I didn't experience any ill effects. I got used to the light in a couple of days and it worked fine. I have read some commentary that being able to turn off VSA may help you get free if you get stuck. But I figure I will see how it performs. I can always get sensors later.

My one suggestion is to not wait too long, your tire selections will drop as fall wears on. Welcome to the club and good luck with your tire and wheel purchase.
