Wink LED Mirrors

A lot of discussion on the JDM LED mirrors for the CR-V with posts from a Honda owner in South America. There's a seller on eBay that offers them.

Has anyone here in the US had these mirrors installed on their 2009 CR-V EX or EXL?

There are two types on ebay the cheaper set is LED lights, the more expensive is LED lights and power folding. I asked the ebay seller if the LED lights or the LED/power folding mirrors could be hooked up to work with the flashers.........he said he did not know but if anybody was good at "wire projects" he thought that it maybe possible.
The installer who fitted my Fog Lights, new horns and gentex mirror said he had painted and installed the LED light mirrors on a fellow members CR-V (just the LED type not the power fold) and he said it was quite simple and they looked great.

those LED mirrors can be wired with the flashers or the tail lights if you know what you're doing. i have seen them around my area. looks great.

if you wire them to the flashers, you would need to add resistor or maybe change the relay. if you dont, your flashers will go crazy and flash really fast - same way as if have a burnt out bulb.
there are relays on the market that u can buy that will work with LED's. it will be plug n play basically, wire up the LED's, plug in the new relay and off u go.

If you don't know what you're doing:

1. Get the Honda Electrical Troubleshooting manual and follow your way with it,,, if you know how to read it.
2. Take the car to someone you knows and pay for that knowledge and skill on car wiring and custom installations.
3. Don't do anything and maybe watch others with the customization done and working.

I didn't need any relay/resistor for this LED job, front, back and LED signal indicators flash at normal factory timing pulse.

A couple more questions.....

Thank you for the comments especially from the gentleman in Costa Rica. A few more questions: What do power folding mirrors refer to? Does this term refer to the power adjustible mirrors? So far, I haven't seen anyone in the San Francisco Bay Area that has this. If feasible, can anyone recommend somebody that can do this?

I found a local!!

I think power ajustible mirrors would refer to mirrors that you can ajust from in your car and not get out and mess with the position.

power folding and power adjustable (a.k.a. power mirrors) are 2 different things.

power folding means the mirror can be folded with the press of a button inside your car and the mirror will fold in.
this is very popular in asia for most of their cars because streets in asia are very narrow. so when they park, they fold in the mirrors.
this is also available widely in north america on most high end cars like bmw, lexus, etc.

power mirrors or power adjustable means your mirrors can be adjusted with a switch inside the car instead of the manual type where you have this stick that you manually move up, down, forward and back to adjust the mirror.

Thank you all

For the answers.

So if I buy these mirrors, I would go for the manual folding ones, which is what I have on the car. Does anyone know of any outfit in the SF Bay Area that can install the LEDD mirrors?

IMO, Honda could make all this a lot easier for all of us if it offered some or all of the European/JDM stuff on the USDM vehicles.

I was told by my installer it was really easy as the wires are right there feeding the power to the original power mirrors.......I would think anyone in your area who can install Fog Lights/stereos etc should be able to do this easily.

USDM CR-V's aren't prewired for turn signal indicators on the mirrors.
You have to do the wiring job. I did it my self and it isn't an easy job, based on a well done routed cabling.
