Okay. I figured out the clips. Just installed today. Here's a close up photo if anyone is interested.

For the back window visors I didn't get any clips and the instructions don't mention them (I checked the video and instructions for a 2007 CRV and they're the same as for my 2006). The back visors were easier, I just took off the tape, angled the visor to get both sides in the vertical window channels and slid it up nice and easy until the top of the visor slid in the top horizontal channel (had to make sure the wider part of the visor faces the front of the car). Also raised and lowered the window very slowly several times to help seat the visors, then left the windows up overnight. They look good and do the job, I just wish they didn't come with some scratches and scuffs.
I guess for the gen 3 they changed the rear ones to include clips. Only the front end of the rear visor has a vertical piece that slides into the window channel. The rear vertical part of the visor sits on the outside of the door frame and goes into the clip. Don't know why weathertech changed to the clips but I figured it out and am happy. Oh and mine came with some scratches too but they're not too noticeable.

That is so weird. Maybe, the side channel is too tight to slip the tapered end in. Don't know, but that's not too elegant imho.

The clip setup actually looks worse in the photo since it's so close up. From a normal distance it looks fine. I can't take a photo outside because of the weather today but when I get a chance I'll take one that's not so close up. Still much better than the OEM ones though.

I came upon these visors for the 2nd gen i believe. These are clear so for those that doesn't have tint it'll match.

No, there's no double sided tape on the clip. Part of the clip goes between the thin rubber weatherstrip and the metal door frame. There is only double sided tape on the parts of the rear visor that go into the window channel.
