2005 had plastic intake with cover... Hmmmm

What's your point? They've had that cover since 2002, and the same engine as well, so does the RSX, and the Si.

Unless the engine cover is used to reduce vavetrain noise, I just assume they leave it off. It's not like a motorcycle where the engine is visible all the time and exposed to the elements so coveres have both an aestetic and funtional purpose. Adding components in a covered engine compratment on a vehcile like the CR-V (not a sports car or luxury vehcile) is rediculous. its' not like this is some exotic turbocharged I-6 or V10. Its a very good, but otherwise very run-of-the-mill 4 cylinder.

Not true. I finally stuffed my pedal to the floor on my 2010 model and it went to 7,000 before upshifting. Fun!
