07 CR-V EX 2WD pricing

I test drove an EX-L last night and started calling dealers for pricing. The dealer at which I test drove offered MSRP (for the EX, $23445) plus $1K. I found two other dealers offering MSRP. Everyone else was trying to add a "market adjustment."

I called every dealer in the state (Arizona) save two. Found a few other dealers offering MSRP. I am purchasing tomorrow from the dealer I test drove at (my preferred dealer). They are matching the other MSRP offers.

hamsammich--

If you don't mind me asking, what did you end up paying?
I am looking at purchasing an EX in the next few weeks and am wondering how much they are going for.

Thanks

I paid MSRP and got free front splash guards, door edge guards (to be installed; they were not in stock last week) and driver and passenger window tinting (EX already includes privacy glass in the rear).

Given that my dealer was willing to throw in dealer-installed accessories at no cost (and come down from MSRP+1000), that indicates to me that you may be able to break the MSRP floor if you are more aggressive in playing dealers off each other. I was happy with my overall deal and chose to just go for it.

Thanks very much for the info.

My fears confirmed.
I may have to put off buying one until there is more room to negotiate on price.

Add to my list of free accessories the cargo tray. When stopped by the dealership to purchase it, my salesperson saw me in line at the cashier and said, "I'll get that for you." He rules.

Newbie Price

Hi All,

New to the forum today. Just bought my wife a 07 CR-V LX AT at our local dealer for $500 under MSRP. Dealer added wheel locks, cargo tray, window tint and splash guards for $390. Kind of a rip but the vehicle in the color we wanted already had these items installed. Pretty funny to have wheel locks on what has to be the ugliest steel rims in the industry. I assume these wheels will keep anyone from stealing them. Looking forward to changing a few items on the LX. Wishing I had purchased an EX but the wife didn't want to spend the extra money. Now I will be doing everything in my power to make it as close to an EX as possible by spending little chunks a money instead of the big chunk up front. Gotta change those butt ugly steel rims first. Thank you for providing this great forum. Looking forward to reading all the posts. If I have posted this in the wrong area, I apologize.

I have an agreement (in writing) with a local Honda dealer for $650 under MSRP for an EX 2WD. I'll pick it up as soon as they bring in our preferred color. The other dealers in the area wanted $100-200 more.
