The Toyota Tundra crew cab pickup truck topped the truck list in the Edmunds study with a rating of 69.4 percent of original retail price. The second-place truck overall was the Honda CR-V at 68.1 percent, and the third-place truck was the extended-cab version of Toyota Tacoma at 66.9 percent.

We actually briefly considered a Hyundai Sante Fe GLS V6 that would have had a MSRP almost identical to the 04 EX V we bought instead. In looking at Black Book wholesale values right now for same mileage and condition, the Honda CR-V is worth $3200 more at trade in! That comes to about $90 a month in extra depreciation costs compared to the V we bought instead. Ouch.

Glad we bought Honda.
