I'm pick up my (oops wife's) CR-v tomorrow. Sold the POS 97 Explorer today for $750 at Carmax. Dealer would only offer $500, so for a couple of hours extra, got another $250 to put down.

I'm getting a Glacier Blue 2wd EX. Have owned and am a proud member of the Element Owners Club for 3 years. Looking forward to a great use of this forum as well.

My best advice is to have done MOST of your talking an negotiating BEFORE you went to the dealership.

I did that when I bought my CR-V and it was, by far, the easiest sales experience I've ever had. I HIGHLY recommend the internet sales department or shopping online versus doing it in person.

Welcome aboard, and I'm sure you'll love your CR-V as much as I love mine.

Picked Up!!!

We picked it up today. It had front mud guards and and a moon roof plastic protector (I don't know the right name) and of course, the ever present pin striping gratis. It also came with wheel locks that I made them remove since I think they are a waste of time. Looking forward to discovering all og the new stuff different from my E.

Interesting that you mention about the wheel locks. I have 97 Isuzu Trooper that came with the wheel locks. Unfortunately, I've changed my tires couple of times since 97 and I must have misplaced the "key" for the wheel locks. On one trip to NYC, I had a flat tire at night. I had forgotten about the wheel lock on my spare tire. I couldn't use it since I didn't have my key. Next day, I asked the shop mechanic to bust that one out. He basically used power tool (chisel) to get it off. He damaged my wheel but I didn't care. I don't want to see another wheel lock after that.

By the way, welcome to the forum. I hope your wife and you both enjoy the CR-V.

Wheel Lock Do Have A Rather Sinister Side!

How many people are going to carry the key in their pocket? So I am a thief. I see your car has wheel locks. Gee I wonder where the key is. Could it be in the glove compartment? Maybe the wheel well? Lets see if I break into the car, I can probably find it.

I have thought about trying some clever places to hide it. For the most part, you no longer have any wheels and you got a broken window. I hope the LED flashing on the car scares them off.
