My New MPG PR!

I reached 26.6 mpg on my '99 CR-V RT4WD by driving like Miss Daisy. I was ultra-conservative with the accelerator, used cruise control every time I was able to, downshifted to slow down (instead of relying on the brakes too much), shifted to a higher gear at about 2,750 rpms every time, and never took her above 60 mph. I had been averaging 24.5-25.5 mpg before driving like gramps. I share my miles equally between city and highway.

I just got 27.3 MPG. The highest I have ever reached. This is averaged, driving back and fourth to work.

I am doing an experiment, and will post my results.
