Gen 1 CR-V Suspension Upgrades?
Our 2001 CR-V SE is my wife's grocery getter and kid hauler. But, we use it for family trips and I can't stand the soft suspension with the body roll. Any suggestions out there for reasonable upgrades to stiffen it up a bit and to reduce the roll? Are coilovers a crazy consideration?

Yeah, find out what the stock spring rates are and call up HR, Tokico, Koni or someone and see what they have that'll stiffen up your ride. Then just order matching shocks/struts that they recommend and install. Make sure you get progressive rate springs. In case you don't know, progressive rate springs stiffen up the more they compress so it rides like stock when you're just driving but it'll stiffen up through the corners.
Although for a grocery getter/kid hauler I think you're really going overboard by modding the suspension and you should just leave it alone. |
