06 What's in the Honda acc sub

Has anybody opened up the accessory Honda sub woofer to see what's in it???

I just put 4 Infinity 6022si speakers in the doors, and my Sirius sounds EXCELLENT through the stock head unit...far less input required for a louder/clearer output....

But, in looking at the extremely poor quality Honda speakers I took out of the doors, I was just wondering what's in the woofer....and should I change it out????

Any suggestions would be appreciated before I tear it out to have a look...thanks...b.

Take apart a computer subwoofer and you'll find the same thing, I had the one that was mounted under the seat on my EX, and it isn't too impressive. It runs at about 50 watts, which is probably what your new speakers should work at, so they will drown out the sub if your head unit is amplified through an equalizer, if it's not, your stock stereo should actually sound a little better, but a lot quieter.

I replaced mine with a hidden flat mounted sub and amp, which ran me about $100 for all the wires/ fuse holders/ fuses. $175 for a sony Xplod flat mount sub, and $100 for a 1000 watt amp, which is very changable, and the whole system still makes the car look stock, but I recently upgraded to a Kenwood Cd player, I didn ';t want to pay $250 for a graphic equalizer to amp up the regular speakers.

I'll get a pic up soon, I also have the speakers that come out of the doors, I just replaced them not more than an hour ago. Those things are silly and stupid. 'm surprised they put out as much sound as they did. I'll have pictures soon though. promise.

Got what it looks like for you. It's a 1300 watt Sony Xplod sub that comes in a flat mount box, it fits upside down in the rear storage area under the table if you leave the plastic cover in the back, but I took it off and sprayed it with bed liner to display it a lot better. The amp I put under the seat, so you access it by sliding the seat all the way forward. When in the proper position, the amp is invisible.

Where is the fuse for the Subwoofer

Hello,

I have just purchased a 2004 Honda CRV EX. It had a Honda installed Subwoofer. The Subwoofer worked when I bought it, but now just days later it doesn't.

Is the fuse in a standard location? I opened up the two fuse boxes and I don't see it marked.

It's marked as an "ACCESSORY" in the interior fuse box. Pull them out one by one till you find the blown one. Chances are taht the sub is blown though, just so you know. The fuse on that thing is supposed to go after 15 amps I believe. Mostly it's just that you turned the volume up too loud and blew it, if that's not the case, then it probably is a fuse, or a cramped wire.
