Built in Navigation / BT / Ipod for 04 CRV EX

Hello:
I am looking to upgrade the stock stereo in our 2004 CRV EX. I would like to avoid a motorized screen, and much prefer a fixed screen. Crutchfield shows that the opening in our Honda is actually too big for the double DIN sized receivers, and, absent modifications, we would have to get a single DIN unit with a motorized screen.

Has anyone with the same style CRV we have gone to a double DIN sized receiver? If so, how did you do it? What modifications were necessary? Thank you in advance.

Welcome To The Club!

Don't have a clue about what you are asking, but would like to welcome you to the club. We have a few members that are into this sort of thing and hopefully they can get you off in the right direction. Again welcome to the club, and good luck with your project.

Hello. Thanks for the welcome. I thought it was clear from the title of my thread but I am looking to replace the stock stereo headunit with a built in navigation / bluetooth (BT) / Ipod headunit.

Crutchfield indicates that the CRV opening for the headunit is larger than the standard double DIN size, so it won't fit without modification. I am trying to determine if anyone has successfully installed a double DIN headunit, with nav., bluetooth, and ipod capability, into a 2002 through 2006 CRV.

Hopefully that clarifies things.

There is nothing wrong with your post!

There is nothing wrong with your post, I just don't know anything about that stuff. Sorry I didn't mean to mislead you.

Wow, this is way too technical for an old guy like me. Anyway, welcome to the forum and hopefully, some who are technically not challenged can point you in the right direction. Again, welcome to the Forum!

you can do a double din in all crv's. You can check if scosche has a kit, but I doubt one is needed for your year. pioneer has units that do all you need. The d-3 is the old faithful, but the new f series are out now, and the software issue is fixed.
