being quoted $7,000 by dealer to fix radar problem

In June this year we leased a brand new CRV -EX AWD 2017.Son recently had slight bump into rear of car in front.Screen shows CMBS and LKAS "problem" and radar not working. No sign of external damage other than scratches on front bumper and grill.Took it to dealer(who we do not trust, had terrible experience getting the car in the first place) and they are quoting $7,000 to fix it.
Can this be possible?Would welcome any advice...Thanks!

If you haven't yet, file with your insurance company, just in case.
Try a different dealer for sure.
Maybe you can remove some trim and get a look at the hardware, no idea where it is.

Hoped the insurance appraiser is a smart savvy guy and will see through the BS. Wonder what the code indicates.

Probably one or more of the sensors is bad. It sounds like they want to charge you for replacing the whole system.

Also climb under there and look for any damaged wiring or anything.

I don't know about $7,000 worth of damage but I can believe around $3,000. If you hit the bumper you stand a good chance of not only taking out the radar but also the shutters which are just inches behind the upper and lower grills.
My nephew who's an insurance adjuster says expect rates to start climbing due to all the expensive sensors that are showing up in the front and rear bumpers. What was once a low cost bumper tap now can be very expensive.

Yes, but it's a brand new car, pretty much must be fixed by Honda.
Keep in mind dealers make most of their money from repairs, please don't hesitate to try different dealers, the folks that sold you the car have no flesh in the game, so to speak.
