I also use eye glass cleaner with a soft micro fiber cloth to clean. I use a swiffer fluffy head to gently remove dust and a detailer brush to clean dust from the crevices.
I've had my '17 V for nearly 2 years and no scratches on the displays...just be careful and gentle...

Like @Blu-Sky, we have a 'new-to-us' used car that has annoying scratches in the plastic gauge covering, obviously from rubbing the plastic with a cloth. (Only visible when sunlight illuminates that area of the dash.)

What is the recommended process for removing (or reducing) these abrasions? Would some type of wax or coating reduce the effect?

The windshield has similar scratches from running the wipers on dry glass.

Both the glass and plastic surfaces can be polished, but the process is laborious. The are lots of YouTube videos on these materials. You might be able to get the windshield polished at an auto glass shop, or possibly a detailer. Same on the dash lens.

Now that I've learned my lesson, I'm supremely confident that next time I'll make a different mistake.
