2003 CRV Sport No Crank No Start

    Hi All

We have a 2003 Honda CRV Sport Has been flawless for the last few years no issues, regularly serviced.

Yesterday drove the vehicle to work no issues parked and left for whole day came out to drive home and NOTHING

You turn the key the check light goes on then off as normal but not click from starter nothing. Only thing I have noticed different is during the check light cycle the D green indicator is illuminated and goes away same time as the check light?

This behavior is the same as if you have left the car in a drive position on the selector.

    The battery is fully charged,
    have checked every fuse,
    checked main relay,
ITS not in gear... same in park or neutral

I Have yet to get under the car and check the starter motor solenoid wire..... but i find it hard to believe that sitting there the day that it would have just fallen off...

Does anybody have any thoughts or suggestions? It would be greatly appreciated!!!

Need to check the bolted on ground wires.

Check battery connections (make sure their clean and tight)

How did you verify battery is fully charged? Did you check with volt meter to see that it's over 12v (about 12.4-12.5 give or take for full charge).

Check to make sure your getting power to the solenoid wire going to the starter when you turn the key.

Yes checked with vault metre. 12.4 volts
    Checked all ground wires

No power to solenid wire which is what I gathered...

Its acting the same as if you accidently left the gear selector in a drive gear. IE the car wont turn over...

What is the immobilizer indicator (green key icon) doing at key on? Perhaps your key transponder has gone 'south'.

    Try another key.

I HAVE heard of failed immobilizers in this vintage CR-V.

maybe a bad range sensor or came unplugged ,its on top of the transmission , when you have the key in the run position and step on the brake and move the shifter does it change on the display, also check if its really in park can you push it,be very careful when messing with the range sensor put the parking brake on because it can start in gear and take off on you, also on the 2003 the immobilizer key will shut off fuel but will still crank

here's some more info i copy and paste from Identifix ,1. Locate the starter relay in the under dash fuse box. The relay is the one on the left side of the fuse box with the top row of fuses. Remove the relay and 2 of the 4 terminals should have battery voltage in the crank position from the ignition switch. If there is no power, test the Black/White wire off the ignition switch and also look for aftermarket security system.

    2. If there is power on 2 of the 4 terminals, verify the transmission range switch is grounding the Blue/White wire to ground the starter cut relay in the park or neutral position.

    3. Verify the Black/White wire is good between the fuse box and the starter solenoid and swap the starter cut relay with another relay in the fuse box to verify the relay is not faulty.
