So I would like to do a audio upgrade to my 2020 crv exl. What I want to install is:

      Alpine PDX-V9
      5-channel car amplifier — 100 watts RMS x 4 + 500 watts RMS x 1

      Kicker 43VCWR122 500w rms
Ported enclosure with one 12" CompR subwoofer

      AudioControl LC7i
6-channel line output converter with bass restoration — adds aftermarket subs and amps to a factory system

Kicker 46CSC654 (fronts and rears)100w rms each
CS Series 6-1/2" 2-way car speakers

Would like to know if anyone has any knowledge of these parts. Also when installing the door speakers do I have to cut door panel for speakers to fit? If anyone has any other options or ideas it would be greatly appreciated.

The amp, sub and speakers are what they are, there's no CRV specific fitment or quality assessment needed. Search here for lc7i though, you'll see a few others that have used it, some with some nice placement photos.

Consider adding significant sound deadening. You can improve quality a lot by preventing resonance and road noise from infiltrating and cancelling out usually mid bass. Most people skip this step and just use watts to overcome road noise, which works, but makes for a less optimal experience. See signature for my approach. I reduced outside noise by 10dB, upgraded speakers and sub, added an EQ on the head unit and left the amp as is. Again, a different/non typical approach that works well for my uses.

Finally, if you have a noise cancelling module (ANC) you'll need to unplug it. Search here for guides, it's easy, just obscure.

Go look at the AudioControl LC7-i: AudioControl LC7i (Black) 6-channel line output converter with bass restoration — adds aftermarket subs and amps to a factory system at Crutchfield

I plan to use this line out converter (LOC) along with a 4--channel amp (45wpc), connected to my OEM radio, along with new speakers. The LC-7i will allow me to compensate for the OEM radio's factory sound restrictions and add a powered sub, with control over tuning each channel and the sub as well. If that doesn't cut it, then and only then will I add a new head unit. But I think it will work based on some posts and reviews I've read. It's worth looking into. The LC7i has some features the LC2i doesn't.

But I am not 16, so I don't need mind-numbing sound levels, just good, full, well-balanced sound. If you want more, go with the LC8i, which adds two more channels, and run another amp to the rear speakers. This will allow you to have two amp channels available for the tweeters, plus two for the front doors and two for the rear doors, which will require two amps - a four-channel and a two channel - or a single six-channel amp ($$$), plus two channels for subs. I don't need that much.

There are a lot of ways to go, but I think my plan will work for me. Just some more options to look at.

      Hello,

I recently purchased a 2020 CRV EX and I am trying to upgrade the front/rear speakers with aftermarket speakers and add a slim form factor sub/amp combo that I had from a previous vehicle.

I purchased an AudioControl LC7i 6 Channel Line out converter and an Alpine KTP-445U Power Pack from Crutchfield, links are below.

AudioControl LC7i 6 Channel Line out Converter
      Alpine KTP-445U Power Pack AMP

Per Crutchfield's tech support, I was going to cut the front/rear left/right speaker output cables from the factory amp wiring harness to run into the high-level speaker inputs of the Line out Converter and then use the Alpine KTP-445U to tap into the cut speaker outputs from the wiring harness to use the factory audio speaker wiring that's already in place.

I was provided the factory amp speaker output wiring diagram from Crutchfield so I know which wires I need to tap into.

I just don't know how to go about accessing the factory amp located below the gear shifter console.

If anyone has any input on how to go about it, I would greatly appreciate it.
