      Amzaon Rack

I just installed the OEM - like rack from Amazon. I was very impressed with the build quality and it's only a $120.

This really is OEM quality for a fraction of the price - yes, that's my review on the product page:) I didn't write this one the review, but if you can turn a screw, you can install this rack.

First off, I have stalked this forum before and have appreciated everything the members have contributed.

I am approaching a trip soon and I'm looking for rooftop cargo options. I have ordered this rack (OEM knockoff). I don't really want a hard-shell carrier, so have been looking at the soft shell ones.

A lot of mixed reviews, but some look ok....however, they are so long, 40" or so, which is much longer than the space between the crossbars which have fixed positions.

So, my question is what options have been successful for others here? Is the extra length of these bags a none issue?

Right now I've been looking hard at the Rola Platypus and some of the Thule options.

      I appreciate any feedback.

I bought mine on Amazon for $ 89.99, $230.00 less than the dealership. No wind noise as the crossbars have an oval taper. Have had them on the car since 2016. Great product. Easy to install. Mine required a torque wrench i think it was 14 lb ft.. Here is the ad.

Many compatible cross bars on Amazon. Here is one that mounts directly to the roof with no rails. https://www.amazon.com/BRIGHTLINES-...p/B0045V8CKU/ref=psdc_347985011_t3_B07FMHXFN1
To say there are many is a stretch. Yes, Brightlines makes some (those you linked are for a different year) but they do not offer crossbars that extend beyond the towers like Yakima or Thule. It is surprising that these premium rack makers are not yet producing a rack that fits the new CR-V.

      Brightlines Crossbars

We’ve had our 2011 SE since February of 2011. We’ve driven this wonderful car all over (Coast to Coast in US twice; lived in Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, Las Vegas, Virginia, South Carolina, and Germany with many trips to France, Poland, the Netherlands, etc.) Not once did I need a set of crossbars. But, hey, why not put some on now 😂

After some digging, I saw these Brightlines on Amazon that got pretty cracking reviews. It turns out, they are really good value for money, easy to install, and fit perfectly. There’s not much out there anymore for us 3rd Geners, so when I experience something good, I like to share.
