  1. Need power(watts) at the rear.

    DIY Center
Hello Dave, Thanks for that detailed reply. Looks like I need to bite the bullet and start stringing wire. Do you have a paper service manual? If so I'd really like to buy one for myself, I'm under the impression that we could only rent a Honda online service manual. Thanks again.
  2. Need power(watts) at the rear.

Hello everybody, I need about 12amps at my trailer hitch to power the air pump for my motorcycle trailer suspension. I'd rather not run wiring all the way from the battery fuse box. Does anyone know if there is a source at the rear with the extra amps available? Or worst case a source on the...
  3. ID PCV system parts.

Here is my installation of a $25 oil catch can installed in the PCV vacuum hose. I had to add a few items from the HW store and O'Reillys Auto to complete the installation. The fancy looking hose provided was to thin walled to withstand the vacuum also I used FI hose clamps vs the suppled simple...

Ah Ha with the camera I see the hose your talking about, I believe. I missed this with my inspection mirror or discounted it since it goes downward and at first glance seems to go under the intake manifold. But I don't see any connection of this hose prior to the mass airflow sensor which is...

Genuser, I suppose you haven't looked closely under the hood of a 4th gen recently. I'm surprised you think someone would mistake a oil dip stick for a PCV. FYI the dipstick is on the forward side engine(radiator side). This is the "NEW" style PCV is bolted to the valve cover, that red item on...

Bump. Sigh, Really no one knows??? Well I guess I'll need to pull the valve cover off to satisfy my curious nature.

No leaks the I can see, hence my curiosity, is the PCV system GREAT or am I simply looking at the wrong hose :)

Because PCV stands for Positive Crankcase Ventilation. PCV system is needed since EVERY IC engine has some amount of blow by past the piston rings, i.e. a small amount of combustion gases get into the crankcase. Next the crank shaft and a multitude of other moving parts are throwing around oil...
  9. 2018 Maintenance Schedule

My 2015 manual say if the MM has not trigger in 12 months to change the oil annually. I change the oil in all my cars/MCs at least once a year and with my newer cars between 5k and 7k.

Hello All, My question is if I have the PCV hose properly identified? If so then Honda has made a GREAT vapor trap for the PCV or my PCV is bad, because there is ZERO evidence of oil in this hose. I’m an engineer by training and temperament, I gotta know how stuff works and I’m am super...
  11. 2015 seems slow to warm up

2012-2016 Official Specs, Features, Etc. (Gen 4)
Thanks for the feedback. I do think it's strange that a modern car would warm up slower, since back in school IIRC they taught that ICE worked most efficiently at higher cylinder temps but not so high as to cause pre detonation and keeping the intake charge cool. But then the 2015 CRV AWD...
  12. 2015 seems slow to warm up

2012-2016 Official Specs, Features, Etc. (Gen 4)
Hello, My new to me 2015 EX with 34k seems to take a long to time warm up in the mornings. For example my prior car which I still drive occasionally is a 2008 Toyota Matrix and upon leaving my home in 35degF outside the car will be at 180-184degF after about 6miles. My CRV in the same outside...
  13. 2015 CVT seems smoother with synthetic fluid

2012-2016 Official Specs, Features, Etc. (Gen 4)
I do my own maintenance, they charged about $11.50/qt for HCF-2 while I've called other dealer that had prices being in the eight to nine dollar range. The Castrol Transmax CVT is $8.something at AutoZone in the local town, so a wee bit cheaper and spending local! Yes please do keep us...

Thank you mp4-e46, I looked over the Castrol Transmax CVT Product Data sheet and on page 2 under "Product Performance Claims" is says "Suitable for use where: .....Honda HCF-2..."("...."many other makes listed) I just did the CVT fluid change on my, new to me, 2015 CRV AWD at 33k. Next time...
