Hey guys, My 1997 CRV has a CV boot on the front driver's side has torn. While it's a fairly straight forward fix, I'd rather not have to rip the entire thing apart to replace it. Does anyone know of a bolt-on split boot that would fit? I can't seem to find anything on google. Thanks!
  6. Problems & Issues
A week or so I brought home a ‘97 with 176k on the odo. Ran fine, no issues all week. Now I can’t get it to start. It cranks over, sounds like it wants to fire but nothing happens. This only started after I filled up the tank. If I can get it to start, it runs great. No stalling or idle issues...
  7. Gen 1: 1996-2001 (UK 1995-2001) CR-V
My daughter's CRV went from having zero oil leaks about 6 months ago, to now dumping about a quart a week (maybe more). It's a 1997 with 125K miles on it. The valve cover gasket seems dry. The oil pressure switch is dry. The oil is leaking from the pully end of the engine (driver's side), so it...

Rally cars have extra lights on the front. Can this be done with this crv? Driving on a wet and stormy night we can barely see the road lines! Thanks

Hey folks. So I sat on the CRV for a bit before diving into repairs. The car runs and drives so nicely, I thought I’d try and tackle some of the rust issues. I pulled the steps off, rocker trim, and this is what I found: I cut out the entire section of bad metal, clean up the rest for...

  17. Problems & Issues
My parents' CR-V became mine in 2003, and from most viewing angles, both outside and inside, she still looks like she's in great condition. However, there's a fair amount of rust in various parts of the undercarriage. I've known about the issue for years, but other than replacing a couple of...

this is the dipstick from a 1997 Honda CRV I was always taught that the best time to get an accurate reading was after the engine had cooled down. dealership guy says when you have been using the engine. and it is still hot. the photo looks like they have been putting too much oil in. what do...

the manual says re oil including filter 4.0 US gals without filter 3.7 US Gals TOTAL 4.9 US gals. why is the total MORE than including filter? the dealer keeps over filling the oil so it is way past the 2 holes. i wonder if this causes excess pressure, as the pan often has oil on it. maybe...
