  1. Gen 2: 2002-2006 (UK 2002-2007) CR-V
I've got 144,000 on my 2012 EX-L and the valves are getting louder. Does anyone have instructions on how to adjust the valves? I couldn't find anything in the forums. Thanks

how long can you typically go till it starts ruining valves and burning them on the valve adjustment. my '06 said check and adjust if necessary at 11000. I checked mine at 100000 and they were tighter than spec, but not completely tight with no slack. i'm in the market for another crv, and...

Does regular/normal use of the parking brake have any effect on the rear brakes (adjust them)? In other words, if someone seldom or never used the parking brake could the rear brakes become less effective and cause higher than normal front pad wear?
  4. Gen 5: 2017-2022 (UK 2018-2023) CR-V
I have a 2019 CR-V SUV Touring and would like to know if I can adjust the "beep" when I hear the back-up warning. For example, while pulling out of a parking space and a car is nearing. The beep is rather low and am hoping there is an adjustment for it. Thank you.
  5. Gen 4: 2012-2016 (UK 2012-2017) CR-V
I have had my (new to me) 2012 a couple of weeks now. All good (except the heater core) and was wondering if the valves need adjustment at some point on this generation. I am coming from a 2001 which did need such attention.
  6. Gen 2: 2002-2006 (UK 2002-2007) CR-V
Sadly my daughter got rear ended in our 99 Crv that was supposed to last her all through high school and college but it was totaled. So we found her an 02 that seems to run and drive great with 160K miles on it. I noticed today it was 2 quarts low on oil with 3K miles remaining before the next...
  7. Gen 3: 2007-2011 (UK 2007-2012) CR-V
Hi experts I think about saving some money by not following strictly the service schedule about valve adjustment. Will there be any symtoms when driving my 2010 CR-V indicating that valve adjustment is needed? That is, what will happen if/when valve adjustment gets out of specifications? Is...
  8. Gen 5: 2017-2022 (UK 2018-2023) CR-V
I recently installed LED Low beams and High beams in my 2018 CR-V, however, the left side high beam is just a little bit too high. I cannot for the life of me figure out where the adjustment is for it. There are two screws on the housing for the high beam, but neither seem to adjust the beam and...

We all know of the defective Heads of the First Gen engines. The Seats pound themselves into the Head so that instead of there being excessive Gap on the Rockers they actually close up. OK, did an adjustment the other day only to find that one of the #3 Exhaust valves cannot be gapped properly...
  10. Gen 4: 2012-2016 (UK 2012-2017) CR-V
I recently purchased a 2015 CR-V. It did not come with navigation. I asked the dealership how much it would cost to have the navigation installed. I was quoted a price of $2k. Way too rich for me. So I purchased and had installed a Kenwood stereo with navigation. I believe an unintended...
  11. Gen 2: 2002-2006 (UK 2002-2007) CR-V
got this thing a few weeks ago, it's mint. 98000 on it, original owner, and dealer maintained. reading that even though there's no ticking, that the exhaust valves may become tight and cause damage. thinking i'll ride this out through winter and adjust them next year in the spring. did a few...

Can anyone help me on how to access handbrake adjustment bolt inside cab, does the centre console need to be removed or is there another means to access it
  13. Gen 3: 2007-2011 (UK 2007-2012) CR-V
Hello: I have been unsuccessful looking for information on how to tighten my emergency cable on my 2011 honda crv. Does anyone know how to do this ? Thanks. Pat
  14. Gen 5: 2017-2022 (UK 2018-2023) CR-V
I just bought the car and accidentally raised the head rest, but how do i get it back down? Thanks
  15. Gen 5: 2017-2022 (UK 2018-2023) CR-V
I have a 17 CRV EX-L and the brakes feel not sensitive enough in comparison to other new cars. It just feels like old cars that you have to push it hard and it starts to do something from the midway down. As I experienced, almost all new cars are just like a very light touch to the pedal and you...
  16. Gen 3: 2007-2011 (UK 2007-2012) CR-V
For such a small question, I don't seem to see consistent answers :) In this thread for gen 2:, I see this warning: "ONLY ROTATE IN A CLOCKWISE DIRECTION, OTHERWISE the chain may...
  17. Gen 4: 2012-2016 (UK 2012-2017) CR-V
My 2012 recently went over 100K miles, and the maintenance minder says to check/adjust the valve lash. I did a search here and found that on some of the previous generation CR-Vs the valve seats would wear and you could end up with burnt valves if you didn't do this adjustment. Is this still...
