  1. Gen 2: 2002-2006 (UK 2002-2007) CR-V
Hello, I'm about to overhaul the Front Brake Caliper (replace boots en rings) of mij 2006 CR-V (16" rims). In order to do so, I have to determine which brake disc type I'm dealing with: 14" Brake disc type (AD57-14) or 15" Brake disc type (AD57-15). (As written in HONDA CRV SHOP MANUAL) I...

How do I tell the difference between the upper and lower pad retainer to install them correctly. The ones now on the caliper brackets are different on the bottom left of the vehicle and the side bottom right of the caliper of the vehicle?
  3. Gen 2: 2002-2006 (UK 2002-2007) CR-V
I pull apart the brakes on my 05 CRV LX every spring to clean and lubricate the slide pins, pad retainers and contact surfaces between the pads. Last year I had a very difficult time removing the front lower slide pins from the caliper mounting brackets. The pins were corroded so I went ahead...

moved from Atlanta GA - this is our 3 winter. Yay. Not. Anywho, seized passenger rear. dont have any garage or tools to do any work. It all in storage in GA. Afraid to trust "nationwide" brands like Midas. have not had them check the bleeder valve release to see if it "releases" the piston...
  5. Gen 4: 2012-2016 (UK 2012-2017) CR-V
I'm trying to switch out the brake bleed screws on my 2014 cr-v LX but I can't find the screw thread size and length anywhere. Do any of you know where to find detailed info like that or if you know off hand let me know. Reason is I'm trying to install speed bleeders. Thanks in advance
  6. Gen 3: 2007-2011 (UK 2008-2012) CR-V
2010 cr-v, front passenger. Doing a 4 wheel brake/rotor job. I was compressing the pistons to fit the caliper assembly back on, and yes, I didn't use a brake pad to press them both in at the same time. I used a compressor tool and just did the one on the R in the pic. Now the left one is over...
  7. Gen 3: 2007-2011 (UK 2008-2012) CR-V
I tried to search for this, but there's a million posts on brakes but I didn't see any that discussed this questions specifically... Went to rotate tires for the season but they were welded on but good, so let the dealer beat them off and they can check the brakes while they're at it. Turns...

The service manual specifies to use Honda Silicone Grease (08C30-B0234M) on the caliper slide pins. However, this stuff is about $50 a tube and not widely available. Are there any good alternatives? I've read that only silicone grease should be used because it's compatible with the rubber...
  9. Gen 2: 2002-2006 (UK 2002-2007) CR-V
Many of the Honda vehicles have the same type of brake caliper guide pins. For most , the top and bottom guide pins are different. For our Honda CRV ( 2005) the bottom guide pin is round and the top is basically a round pin with three lengthways flats...
  10. Gen 2: 2002-2006 (UK 2002-2007) CR-V
Hey everyone, I've searched on here for hours and still haven't found an answer to my question. Would someone please identify what I'm pointing to on this rear brake caliper? Thanks a lot, Craig

Have a 2008 EX-L and am wondering if anyone has installed caliper covers on their CR-V. Love the look of them but it doesn't seem like there is much room to install them...just by looking at the wheel. Any suggestions/recommendations? Thanks:cool:
