  1. Gen 5: 2017-2022 (UK 2018-2023) CR-V
Does anyone installed one? Do you think its worth since I haven't heard any members check their engine for carbon buildup? :confused2:
  2. Gen 5: 2017-2022 (UK 2018-2023) CR-V
If you read about direct injected engines & turbos you learn pretty quick about pressures in the engine, intakes and how oil deposits will accumulated on the air inlets & on the back side of intake valves. The downside of direct-injection is fuel isn't cleaning this area. The conventional...

Has anyone considered installing an oil catch can in the EGR line? Reading about the pitfalls of direct injection (as in my 2017 CRV with the 1.5L engine), I am concerned that without port injection that the intake valve will form carbon deposits resulting in later issues (cold start misfires...
  7. Gen 4: 2012-2016 (UK 2012-2017) CR-V
DI engines are known for coking up intake valves This refers to the carbon deposits due to oil (from the PCV air flow) coating them without getting washed clean via gas in the intake air stream. ('cause the gas goes directly into the combustion chamber instead). Some claim it helps to add an...
