  1. Gen 2: 2002-2006 (UK 2002-2007) CR-V
The drivers side door is being real finicky, only opening once out of every fifty pulls it seems. It'll open at random sometimes, but most of the time neither handle will open it. I pulled the door card off and from what I can see, everything looks to be okay. Both handles are properly attached...
  2. Gen 2: 2002-2006 (UK 2002-2007) CR-V
Replaced a broken R/F exterior door handle. now requires 4-5 pulls to open the door. Every time. broken one worked properly but was in basically 2 pieces. the adjusting nut appears to be in the same place. didnt count the threads but visually looks to be.
  3. Gen 5: 2017-2021 (UK 2018-2022) CR-V
A scary story in the news about a guy who was trapped in his 2006 car for 13 hrs until the neighbors found him and the fire dept. got him out. His key fob wasn't working and the electricity was dead, he wasn't able to unlock the doors from the inside...
  4. Gen 2: 2002-2006 (UK 2002-2007) CR-V
I have a 2004 CR-V with a broken door latch, driver's side front door. The interior of the door looks like it can't be removed without having the door off... Any advice on how to open the door? I currently have to climb through the car from the passenger's side, can operate the door locks and...
  5. Gen 5: 2017-2021 (UK 2018-2022) CR-V
Hi all, I've had issues several times with the hood latch sensor being misaligned on my CRV, beginning only a week after I purchased it new in September 2017. It started with walk-away lock not working, and the alarm going off by itself several times. Took it to dealer, they let me know it was...
  6. Dear Honda:
Just took ownership of my 2017 CR-V EX. I love it. Until I had to buy gas. What possessed you to hide the fuel filler door release latch so close to the floor? It took me 5 minutes to find it and then I had to get out of the car to reach it*. You could have put it on the floor next to the...
  7. Gen 3: 2007-2011 (UK 2008-2012) CR-V
The tailgate latch assembly on my '08 CRV LX (US model) gave up the ghost... and I picked up the official Honda part. This is the 74800-SMG-E01. Except: 1- The bolt sizes were different. M8 instead of the original M6. 2- The latch assembly is not as tall as the old one. I'm having to shim up...
  8. Gen 5: 2017-2021 (UK 2018-2022) CR-V
I felt everywhere in the seats and cannot find the metal latches for the carseats, where are they?
  9. Gen 5: 2017-2021 (UK 2018-2022) CR-V
Does anyone use children's car seats in their new CRV? I have the logo for the latch system but can't locate the actual latches anywhere. Is it possible they weren't installed by the dealer?
  10. Gen 4: 2012-2016 (UK 2012-2017) CR-V
In a family members' '16 Touring I was trying to install a rear facing infant child seat for them, but couldn't find the hooks for the child seat LATCH system. I saw on the rear seats where there was a small button/tab looking plastic piece with an icon of a child seat, but when I put my hand...
  11. Miscellaneous / General CR-V Discussions
Hi all Newbie here  We’ve bought a Honda and trying to get the back seats to flip up. The double seat is fine but the smaller one appears stuck. We’ve tried pulling the flap, and making sure the seat is fully back but no joy. Tried everything shown on this thread Rear folding seat stuck Any...

Hi there...something went "sprong" when I tried opening up my passenger front door one morning and their door would not open up from inside anymore. I'm having an issue trying to remove the outer lock rods to take the latch unit out to examine what the issue is. Any tips would be appreciated...
  13. Do-It-Yourself / Mods
Has anyone done this? Either 3 or 4th gen? On occasion I camp out in the back of my V like many on the forum. I find it a PITA to climb out of the rear passenger side door. I know there is a manual override its not very easy to use. On the 3rd and 4th Gen its basically just a switch right? I...
  14. Gen 2: 2002-2006 (UK 2002-2007) CR-V
My wife's 2004 CR-V Ex no longer has a functioning rear tailgate - that is, it does not respond to either the remote or the key. She CAN unlatch the glass, thank goodness. I'm guessing I can replace the latch - maybe the entire latch/handle, etc.,- if I can get to it, but it's not obvious to me...
  15. Gen 1: 1996-2001 (UK 1995-2001) CR-V
So my gas tank door is broken. The latch fell though the inside of the vehicle. Is there anyway to fix this?
  16. Recalls, TSB's & Notices
Not really thrilled about bringing the CRV in for the recall. Don't look forward to having both door panels pulled off to have the latches fixed. Anyone have it done yet? How careful were the technicians, and can you see where they pried the door off? Usually they aren't the most careful people...
  17. Recalls, TSB's & Notices
American Honda will voluntarily recall approximately 166,000 model-year 2012 CR-V vehicles and approximately 6,200 model-year 2013 Acura ILX vehicles in the United States to replace both front door latches http://www.hondasacuras.com/2012/07/...acura-ilx.html The recall letters will go out in...
  18. Gen 3: 2007-2011 (UK 2008-2012) CR-V
The rear seat (driver's side) latch is stuck so that the seat won't release from the floor and fold up. Any ideas how this can be accessed and fixed? This is a 2008 EX-L model. Thanks, Doc
  19. Gen 4: 2012-2016 (UK 2012-2017) CR-V
I've posted on a couple of other threads. Please post on here if you're having the safety latch, followed by battery drain problem. 2012 Honda CRV purchased in Dallas area, first time Honda owner. Paid cash for vehicle, one of many vehicles I've owned in my lifetime. I took the vehicle in...
  20. Accessories
This is for all the 3rd gen LX guys. I purchased the foldable cargo tray and I hated how it made a sound over speed bumps. So I purchased the stock latches that belong on the EX and replaced the hooks. Whoever purchased the tray should definitely get this. All 4 locks were less than 10 bucks.
