I notice a whistling sound when accelerating between 40-50 mph. It is noticeable when AC and radio is off. It sounds like a turbo whistle. How many of you experience this and is it characteristic of CVT?

Hello, I checked my oil level after 2k miles and I noticed that the level is at about 3/4 between the two markings on the dipstick. is this considered normal? How do I quantify how many quarts is lost by looking at the dipstick?

Getting a little concerned, have 24k miles on my 2018 EX, and when I'm stopped at a light, it feels a lot rougher idling than usual. Is this normal? Any ideas of what it could be? The RPM's are holding at around 1200, so nothing to do with the engine revving, but it just seems a little...
  4. Gen 5: 2017-2021 (UK 2018-2022) CR-V
Hi, When should normal service be done on 2017 CRV ? Also should it be done earlier (every ? Kms) assuming there will be some form of oil dilution issues ?

Drove my V, which I bought new and has 38,XXX miles on it, yesterday up north on the interstate for about 300 miles. As the outside temperature dropped from around 32 Fahrenheit to 10 Fahrenheit, so did my mileage, even though I was going a solid 70 mph the whole way. One would think the engine...

When coasting {foot completely off gas pedal} at 40mph with RPM at approx 1500 , and if I lightly press the gas pedal the RPM drops to around 1100-1200 and then goes back up. AC and headlights are off, not sure if this makes a difference. Is this normal ?

Dear all, Just curious, what's the most common issues with Gen 3 CRV due to normal wear and tear, if the vehicle is being maintained correctly (e.g. change engine oil, brake fluid, transmission fluid, break pads, tires, etc..) For example, are some of the sensors or plastic seals would just go...

Hi, have just bought myself a 2001 CR-V Es. From all appearances and the inspection of a trusted mechanic it’s absolutely mint. However, I’ve recently begun to notice a noise when moving that almost sounds like a (very quiet) helicopter. It only occurs when on the move and is noticeable at...

I have a 2006 4WD EX 5-speed manual. I bought it from a dealer, and I have two weeks left on the warranty. I can't shake the feeling something is wrong with the engine. The car needs to shift up VERY quickly, which I'm not too annoyed by, but when I get into 5th gear, the car hits 3000rpm by...
  10. Problems & Issues
I travel a lot on business, at least a couple times a month, for anywhere from 2 to 8 days. I leave my car locked in an unheated garage behind my house. I live in the Chicago area. For my old car, a 2002 Honda CRV-EX, this was never an issue. Come home, get in the car, start it, go. For my new...

Hi everyone, I'm looking at purchasing a 2012 CR-V EX. (60,000 miles on the clock, full Honda service history) The car is immaculate, however there are signs of rust/ corrosion under the bonnet. I know the car has been not been used much over the last year....only 3000 miles done in that time...

Hi, I noticed today when shutting off the CR-V some engine noise so I decided to pop the hood. I am wondering if this is normal so I am sharing a short video I took of it. Sorry these videos were shot in the dark. Is this normal? https://youtu.be/c2rgYxCVB64 Also when I turn it off, it seems...

My wife and I just finished a six hour interstate trip with and average speed over 65 mph. I had the AWD Torque Distribution Monitor displayed the whole time. I never noticed any condition where torque was not shown going to all four wheels. I have seen torque to just the front wheels, under...

Hello, new owner of a high mileage (157k)used 2010 EX AWD. We bought it to use as a third car and not having owned crv's befor bought it based on condition, one owner with all maintenance, a short test drive and then negotiated price. Never really did a long highway test drive. I kinda...

I recently purchased a used 2005 Honda CR-V EX KA 5AT (UK) with 1 key fob. The key fob and power lock switches would only lock/unlock the driver's door. I could hear noise from each door and the door lock knob would jiggle a bit on some of them so I know they were getting power. I replaced...

Hi everyone! If you have a chance, I was wondering if you could help me determine if my 2017 CR-V EX's liftgate might have a potential issue. It opens and closes just fine, but when the liftgate is almost all the way up, I hear a very brief low pitch 'scraping' or light 'grinding' noise, almost...

'17 Touring settings for CMBS "Collision braking", What does Long,Normal,Short mean? Under "CMBS" Collision Mitigation braking system pg 121 under changing settings, determine the warning timing. Then it says select forward collision warning distance. Select Long, Normal, Short. Is "Long" a...

I was running my dashcam cables yesterday in my new CRV and ran them down the A pillar, then squeezed them under the rubber / foam on the passenger side door (had to really peel it back to get in there). Construction appears very solid, even on the trim under the dash, could barely find any room...

Shouldn't the temp gauge read right in the middle/50%? Any ideas what would cause it to read higher? It reads around 60 to 65% consistently, does not fluctuate. It's really bugging me I changed the thermostat - Genuine Honda, no change to gauge, and after removing the old one, I noticed it was...
