  1. Recommendation of Gen 4 CRV vs subaru outback

    Miscellaneous / General CR-V Discussions
Hi, I am new to this forum. I live in bay area, california. I am considering between a gen 4 crv exl and a similar year subaru outback 2.5i limited. I have heard that the new 1.5T engine for the gen 5 crv is not super reliable. Can anyone share the thoughts/experiences on the 1.5T/2.4 engine...
  2. My first choice has always been CRV...but Subaru Outback is reaching out to me...

2012-2016 Official Specs, Features, Etc. (Gen 4)
After we recently gave our daughter our 2006 CRV, I had originally planned on buying a '16 or '17 CRV. Was a no-brainer. We had a '96 Civic before that. Never had any issues with either of our Hondas. But, lately I've been drawn to the Subaru Outback. Friends of ours traded their 18 month...
  3. Making the switch from an outback to an EX-L

    Greetings & Introductions
Just on here as I prepare to make a purchase... I am looking forward to trying something a little different. Here in Northern California the outback is quite popular due to our varied road conditions, but we have begun to see more CRVs on the road. I guess we will add one more. Wish me luck.
  4. Debating between CRV 2015 and Outback 2015

    Shoppin' and Test Drivin'
I'm debating between the 2, I tow a boat which is around 1500# on a weekly basis, I currently tow with my golf GTI and I have awesome fuel economy. I'm wondering if the CRV would be good for that, is the AWD system worth it for the boat launch or is it worthless? I know the subaru AWD system is...
  5. 2015 Outback -- what do you think?

    Miscellaneous / General CR-V Discussions
I saw the launch of the new Outback 2015 yesterday, and I must say, I like what I see. They have really raised the bar with heated seats and vents in second row, LED lights and DLRs for the 6 cylinder version. I know I know its not strictly a SUV, and belongs in a different segment, but I am...
  6. Did you compare CRV and Subaru Outback or Forester?

    Shoppin' and Test Drivin'
I am interested in your comparisons/contrasts if you also considered a Subaru Outback and/or a Forester. The OB is a station wagon with AWD, the Forester is a small SUV, so probably more similar to the AWD CRV than the Outback is. Prices are fairly close on all three.
  7. Selling my Outback and thinking about a CRV, what should I look/look out for?

    Shoppin' and Test Drivin'
Hello, I currently have an 05 Subaru Outback XT and after a year of problems with it, I have decided to sell it for something more reliable to get me through College. I live in Colorado and need something with 4WD or AWD. I am thinking about an 05-09 CRV with under or around 100k miles. What...
