  1. Gen 1: 1996-2001 (UK 1995-2001) CR-V
Hello, we own a 2000 CRV we just bought in Costa Rica. The car runs excellent until you go up steep mountains and the it overheats and needs water. We are getting mixed mechanics ideas ranging from cracked head gasket, to radiator to water pump to thermostat. Wondered if anyone has some insight.

Devastated. Drove it hot because of a coolant leak without noticing and blew my 3rd Cylinder headgasket. Wondering if anyone has done the same and has any advice. I live in Phoenix, AZ and am looking for a mechanic as well as anyone with a similar story. Did the engine ultimately need replacing...

My 01 crv lx is having an issue where when i go past 40 mph the temperature gauge slowly starts to rise going past the 2 water waves/close to the red mark but when i bring the mph back down to 40 or below the temperature needle goes back down and to the normal half way mark and also when i turn...

Hi, I have an RD1. I bought new sensors (thermo switch & fan/radiator fan switch), the relays are good (even switched them around). But yet the vehicle is still overheating if you drive it a little hard. The fan is kicking in 'late'. What could cause the fan to kick in late? I use water in...

Hi, I have a 2008 crv Es automatic. I am getting an overheating smell, but the temperature gauge is reading just under the normal. There does not appear to be any water leaking out anywhere. Any help and advice very much appreciated Many thanks
  7. Gen 2: 2002-2006 (UK 2002-2007) CR-V
First post. My 04 CRV is overheating. The CEL is on with three codes... PO420 (big surprise there...) PO339 and PO117. Not sure if 420 & 339 are related to overheating, but obviously 117 is. The radiator fan is running. The heat is not working. The coolant was gone, but it still overheats...
  8. Gen 5: 2017-2022 (UK 2018-2023) CR-V
I have seen a couple of videos on the 2017 that show the electronic louvers that close when the car is at high speed and low temps to block the radiator in order to reduce drag at high speeds, but I have not seen any mention of it on the 2018. I personally kind of thought this might be a bad...
  9. Gen 1: 1996-2001 (UK 1995-2001) CR-V
Hey CRV owners! I'm a new owner of an old 1998 CRV. Sadly some problems came up.. my biggest problem now, is that my car overheats. Today i replaced the radiateur, to hopefully fix the problem. With a few testdrives it still turned out that not everything was fixed. And now i'm clueless...

I posted this in the mobile electronics forum, but no replies. Maybe it's specific to our generation? My Android seems to be overheating when I plug it into the smartphone USB in the console. I've never had my phone get hot like this. Don't want to ruin my phone! And I haven't figured...
