Hello, we own a 2000 CRV we just bought in Costa Rica. The car runs excellent until you go up steep mountains and the it overheats and needs water. We are getting mixed mechanics ideas ranging from cracked head gasket, to radiator to water pump to thermostat. Wondered if anyone has some insight.

2000 CRV Radiator fans only work when A/C is on. Fuses OK ,replaced relays, replaced fan sensor by thermostat. Sensor has continuity when put in hot water They will run if jumped at sensor connector. Any ideas? Am I missing something?

First post. My 04 CRV is overheating. The CEL is on with three codes... PO420 (big surprise there...) PO339 and PO117. Not sure if 420 & 339 are related to overheating, but obviously 117 is. The radiator fan is running. The heat is not working. The coolant was gone, but it still overheats...
