Lurked here for awhile. I’m close to needing to purchase a new vehicle soon. Its between the CR-V (non-hybrid) or the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. I’m not interested in the Honda Hybrid as my lengthy Honda experience warns me of jumping on the new model/technology/idea early.
Recently my 2001 C-rv finally bit the dust with needing a transmission replaced at 260,000 miles. It served me well with little trouble through the years even with its weird quirks towards the end. I'm looking at a few models between 2011/2014 but skeptical with so many complaints with certain...
iam Mbatya Wilberforce in Uganda, have enjoyed driving Honda models. currently, I am driving Honda Mobilio and would like to drive CRV models 2012 and above but wish to know more about the reliability and fuel consumption
Good evening fellow CR-V lovers. I purchased my 2018 CR-V in January of this year. Now sitting at 7700K miles. I really love the vehicle, its very nice. I traded in a 2016 Honda Civic EXL, so I was pretty much use to everything. But I will get straight to the point... after reading about...
Why does Consumer Reports only give the new CR-V an "Average" Reliability Rating?
Reliability has always been the hallmark of the CR-V. Why has it slipped to average and below RAV4, CX-5, Forester and many others? Has it slipped or is it the same old work horse?
I am on the market for a new, or 1-2 yrs old used car. Me and my wife have narrowed it down between 2016/17 Nissan Murano SV and 2017 Honda CRV EX.
I know, these cars are in different categories, but that's what she wants.
We rented 2017 Nissan Murano for 3 days and drove it around Miami. We...
Just read in Consumer Reports that the new Civic had much lower than average reliability in the first year. Being that the new CR-V is on the same platform, I am now wondering how it will turn out. Any thoughts?
Just purchase a 2000 crv after reading all the great reviews. It has 110,000 miles and looks to be the great shape. After 5 days the transmission blew.
This is my 1st foreign made car. So a new trans is on the way hope the reliability comes after spending another $2500.
The wipers have gone pretty much random whacko on my 2007 CR-V. Nothing wrong with the motor itself (good and strong), but the controller is bad:
- random number of wipes between intervals
- new second "at rest" position: vertical!!!
- stays on continuously regardless of control settings
I own a 2003 CR-V & love it!
I'm looking at Certified 2006 SEs & I'm finding heated seats on almost all of them.
I'd like input from people who actually own these seats:
1. Do they work well?
2. How well do they hold up?
I'm not interested in an option that's going to cost money on a...
Thanks to this forum (sticky topic at the top) and the help of members here, we've got the latest results for a couple model years of the CR-V. These cover owner experiences through March 31, 2008.

The latest TrueDelta Vehicle Reliability Survey results have been posted. These are for the year ending December 31, 2007. This forum has been very helpful by sticking a thread about this research.
For the 2002 Honda CR-V, we received an average of 4.4 months of data on 15 cars. This is a very...
