  1. Gen 3: 2007-2011 (UK 2008-2012) CR-V
Hi, First time post, great source of info so far on this site. My daily commute sees me dropping down a steep hill immediately from cold. Descent takes about 60 seconds. Is it ok for me to put the CR-V in 1st gear, and descend using engine braking - from cold? Revs hit about 3800 when doing...
  2. Gen 5: 2017-2021 (UK 2018-2022) CR-V
Is this normal? My 2017 CRV EXL won't rev over 4k RPM. Does anyone else have this issue? Thank you.
  3. Gen 1: 1996-2001 (UK 1995-2001) CR-V
I have a 2001 Honda CRV with about 166,000 miles on it. Recently, ONLY when hot, the shifting becomes somewhat erratic and if for any reason I have to shift from FWD to REV or vis a versa, it wont do it until you rev the engine some then slams into the disired gear. As I said, this only occurs...
  4. Gen 5: 2017-2021 (UK 2018-2022) CR-V
I had a weird lag accelerating and wasn't able to repro. So tonight sitting in driveway I gave it gas while in park. I am not rev'ing the engine, thats the engine doing it. Is there really a rev limiter @ 4k RPM? This doesn't seem normal. Anyone else have the same issue...
  5. Gen 4: 2012-2016 (UK 2012-2017) CR-V
I was going through systems on my 2015 crv lx with 31,00 miles that I just purchased for my wife. I drive a 98 crv with 100,000 miles 5 spd stick. I noticed when I revved the engine it only went to about 4.000 rpm and acted like a rev limiter I take it this is normal for protection? I never...
  6. Gen 5: 2017-2021 (UK 2018-2022) CR-V
Has anyone else observed when starting the engine that the Tachometer display shows revs to full redline before dropping back to idle? It doesn't seem that the engine is actually revving (thank God) - just the display bar.
  7. Gen 1: 1996-2001 (UK 1995-2001) CR-V
Me again. Another problem I've been troubleshooting on my 99 crv is this: When I first start the car the engine revs high up to around 1500 to 2000 rpms. Then slowly comes back to normal. Of course this is terrible for the engine since the oil isn't moving yet. So I usually try to put it in gear...
