  11. Gen1 RT4WD torque ratio

    Under The Hood / Performance
I'm asking what the transfer case's front-rear torque ratio is. Actually, in the real time 4WD system, it would be the clutch in the rear diff, not the transfer case, but that's a semantics issue. I know the system is FWD until the front wheels slip, then the torque transfer is proportional...
  12. Rt4wd Explained

    Under The Hood / Performance
One of the best sources of information on how the RT4WD System works has been and continues to be the following: http://www.hobby-rc.com/rtawd.pdf It pulls circuit and hardware illustrations from the Gen 1 service manual but also adds a bit here and there. It is old, however, and does not...

  16. 97 rt4wd

    Problems & Issues
I'm a recently new owner of a 97 CR-V. My question concerns the rt4wd. I've had 4x4 vehicles in the past, but I'm not sure how the CR-V responds to wheel slippage and don't know if it's engaging. I've read several forums on changing the diff fluid and tires. I live in WI and get plenty of snow...
