  1. 2008 CRV Rear Brake slide pin question

    Problems & Issues
I have a 2008 CRV and have a question about the rear brake caliper slide pins. Does the completely round pin go on top or does the pin with the flat side go on the top. I am going to do my brakes soon and have gotten different answers on what is the correct pin goes where. Thanks for any help.
  2. 2006 CRV slide in ditch landed on driver side of vehicle

    Problems & Issues
Located in MI, yesterday my son slide our 2006 CRV SE into a ditch and the vehicle tipped over onto the driverside. Son had no injuries other than pride. Side curtain airbags went off Body damage was limited to a dent between the gas filler door and rear taillight. Vehicle has no power...
  3. Can your CRV do a power slide?

    Miscellaneous / General CR-V Discussions
Yes, a post that might get some attention :-) What I really mean by this is did the CRV ever offer a rear torque bias where it could overpower the front wheels? Reason I ask, my 08 Element can step out the rear end if you give throttle while in say a parking lot with snow. My 06 CRV EX-L auto...
  4. Smash and grab on 05 CRV -- now driver's seat doesn't slide

    Problems & Issues
Hello, last night my driver's side window got smashed on my 2005 CR-V. I am planning on calling an auto glass place to fix the window. But I see now that the driver's seat doesn't slide. Obviously some glass got into the track. How bad is the problem? Is it now beyond what an auto glass place...
  5. Front bottom caliper slide pins keep seizing!

    Maintenance and Service
I pull apart the brakes on my 05 CRV LX every spring to clean and lubricate the slide pins, pad retainers and contact surfaces between the pads. Last year I had a very difficult time removing the front lower slide pins from the caliper mounting brackets. The pins were corroded so I went ahead...
  6. What grease for caliper slide pins?

    Maintenance and Service
The service manual specifies to use Honda Silicone Grease (08C30-B0234M) on the caliper slide pins. However, this stuff is about $50 a tube and not widely available. Are there any good alternatives? I've read that only silicone grease should be used because it's compatible with the rubber...
  7. My CRV Slide On Ice Last Night

    Problems & Issues
Well, my new CRV of 2 months really threw me last night. I have front wheel drive and as I understand it should handle better in a slippery situation. Our frigid temperatures have kept a few spots on the road icy. When I was driving home last night from work, I was coming up to a light. I...
  8. Rear seats won't slide.

    Problems & Issues
I have a 2006 CRV. According to the owners manual, the rear seats slide forwards and backwards in order to use the lie flat function of the front seats. The lever is there to unlock the seats but the seats won't budge. Any Ideas? The car is extra clean so there's no chance of rust or corrosion...
  9. Video For 2007 Brake Slide Pins

    Maintenance and Service
I have viewed videos of those slider pins cleaning and lubricating that some say should be serviced . Unfortunately they were older videos of generation one or two CR-V's . Are there any up to date videos for 2007 models available . If not, are the procedures from the older videos any...
  10. So Throttle or Brake in a slide

    Miscellaneous / General CR-V Discussions
Today in NY it snowed a bit, not big deal but it hasn't snowed at all in NY and I finally got to test out the V in the white stuff. It was pretty slippery as the snow was wet and a bit Icy, however, I found an auxiliary parking lot which was empty and smooth and had a little fun umm I mean...
