Test driving a 2015 CRV (53k miles) from a private seller. It's a two owner vehicle
(1st) owner leased it for 1yr10months and drove lightly
(2nd) owner and seller I'm meetings owned it for 14 months and already driven over 40k miles. Carfax shows no maintenance history for this current high...
8. Chevy Equinox
7. Jeep Cherrokee
6. Nissan Rogue
5. Hyundai Tucson
4. Toyota RAV4
3. Subaru Forester
2. Mazda CX-5
1. Honda CR-V
"Now with the whole of its competitive set assembled, the CR-V shines again. No crossover provides a better overall balance than the Honda. It's fun to drive yet...
I gave my impressions on the RAV4 forum but I'll post it here in case anyone is interested.
By the way, the competitor I drove was a CX-5 turbo which I felt was better than the CR-V in terms of engine performance and refinement.
2017-2018 Crash Test vs the Competition
I was wondering if many in this site care about crash test?
Since I have a precious cargo riding, I like to have a decent safety vehicles.
That being said, the new 2017-2018 Honda CRV models do really well specially on the crash called small overlap...
It has been suggest to me by a Honda technician that a dealer serviceperson could do a "fuel pressure leakdown" test that might explain the rising oil level for the 1.5L Turbo engine. I guess an injector could leak into the cylinder when it should just hold a back pressure until it is told to...
I've read a few of these threads now. I've tried replacing the AC Relay as that seemed to be a common culprit. I'm frustrated at the cars unpredictable drain.
It's going on 4 years now and has a small battery but the dealer claimed it tested ok. I was thinking of just replacing it. I've heard...
It's a manual transmission, excellent shape. I didn't find a deficit in horsepower (126) with the B20 engine, seemed fine for me with the 5 speed. It ran/drove excellent, smooth and easy shifting unlike the manual transmission 2002 Toyota Camry I test drove with a slipping clutch. The only thing...
The postings on the gasoline contamination of oil is now 104 pages long and I have not been able to sift through all of it to determine of anyone has sent an oil sample to Blackstone Laboratory to have the oil analyzed.
I had the creeping oil level increase and the local service technicians...
I'm looking at a 2012 EX-L with Navi that has 69k miles on the odo.
Carfax is clean and it was never owned near Houston so probably safe against flood damage.
Are there any special problems this gen has that I should watch out for?
I've had two 2nd gen in the past and I know they had issues...
I will be looking at a 2005 CRV (Manual Transmission) this weekend.
It will be used by my son as a daily driver.
What should I be looking for in terms of wear/tear, maintenance issues etc...
Thanks in advance.
