  1. Gen 3: 2007-2011 (UK 2008-2012) CR-V
Hi all, I've had a problem with my 2007 CRV come up over the past couple of weeks. One day we were driving uphill with quite high rpms to keep up with traffic when all of a sudden the car jerked engine light and VSA plus the '!' lights came on. Car was in limp mode to the side of the road...
  2. Gen 2: 2002-2006 (UK 2002-2007) CR-V
I'm helping my dad with his 2003 Honda CRV. Last week the P1259 code came on while he was on his way to work, and the car would shutter around 3000 rpm. At first we assumed the shuttering was due to transmission problems. First thing I did was do a flush and fill on the tranny. Of course this...
  3. Gen 2: 2002-2006 (UK 2002-2007) CR-V
Hello everyone! So... I have an oil leak up top somewhere. I am wondering if it is the valve cover, but I thought I would ask this community in case there was a common leak that occurred up there. 2002 CRV I will attach some pictures, but it is just on the drivers side, backside of the motor...

  5. Gen 2: 2002-2006 (UK 2002-2007) CR-V
I'm new to the forum, looking to import a JDM CRV as a Canadian daily driver and want to talk to someone who is familiar with these cars. I have owned a bunch of a few JDM cars in the past. Biggest questions are: -Common issues / possibly recalls (I know it won't help it being a JDM car in...
  6. Greetings & Introductions
Hi all, I've recently purchased a 2001 Honda CR-V ES with 112k miles on the clock as my previous daily (2001 Honda Integra Type R) wasn't really suitable for the UK winter roads. I've wanted a CR-V for a while now, and it HAD to be an RD1! Lots planned for this, It needs a few maintenance jobs...
  7. Gen 2: 2002-2006 (UK 2002-2007) CR-V
I just bought a used 2005 Honda CR-V. The guy who owned it before me tightened the 3 bolts way too tight, so when I was removing them one of the bolts broke. I was able to get the broken bolt out, but when I went to screw new bolts on, another bolt broke in the same position. This time, even...
  8. Gen 3: 2007-2011 (UK 2008-2012) CR-V
read that the v-tec operation/sensor on these engines can be picky with the type of oil used. I just buy what it requires, 5w20, got the synthetic blend higher mileage (75000+). just got the thing and it's been dealer maintained since new, that was what I put in for my first oil change and the...
  9. Gen 5: 2017-2021 (UK 2018-2022) CR-V
I have a 2017 LX. I'm not sure if I have experienced VTEC....is there something special I should be doing?... shifting to S-mode? My prev car was a 2008 STI hatch.
  10. Gen 2: 2002-2006 (UK 2002-2007) CR-V
how does vtec actually work. I understand it moves the cams so there lobe profile is altered, but what if it isn't working? is that possible, maybe some solenoids or actuators that could fail and not move the camshafts when required, or would this set an engine light? I always thought you...
  11. Gen 5: 2017-2021 (UK 2018-2022) CR-V
I know it's come up before in other thread. It kept bothering me not having a definite answer from Honda. I ran across this in the 2018 online brochure. I don't believe there were any changes made from 17 to 18.
  12. Gen 3: 2007-2011 (UK 2008-2012) CR-V
Hi, I live in the Seattle area. I own a 2008 Honda CRV. The dealer during regular oil change recommended that I do the following: 1. Reseal oil pressure switch - $220 2. VTEC Gasket replace - $200 3. Front Crankshaft Seal replace - $350 I want to know for each of the above items: 1. Which are...
  13. Performance Modifications
Full Disclosures: There is an existing thread here ( crvownersclub (dot) com /forums/22-under-hood-performance/5760-another-vtec-conversion ) that touches on this a bit, but it was hard to follow and most forums consider resurrecting old threads bad form (I'm new here, but assuming that's also...

  16. Shopping & Test Driving
Hi. Our son is looking at buying a 2nd hand CRV as his 1st car. He has inspected a 2001 Sport version & a 2002 Base model. The 2001 model has 180kms, service history & ABS brakes whilst the 2002 model has 167kms & the VTEC engine. They are similar price. Any advice on reliability, safety...
  17. Performance Modifications
I hear the V-Tec locks the valves together at around 4,500RPM. If one were to install a V-Tec head onto a stock CRV's B20Z(USDM) engine, it wouldn't be an advantage would it? Even with a 5 speed I don't reach 4,500.....more like 3,000 RPM... I'm not sure if V-Tec would even kick in driving...
  18. Performance Modifications
Hello there folks. I have a 1998 crv 5spd that I'm planning to drop my fresh 400hp turbo b18c motor into. Now this is the hydrolicly actuated rear diff. I was wondering if anyone knows of a way of locking this in 4wd so there is no delay in power transfer. I want to get as close to 50/50 power...
  19. Gen 2: 2002-2006 (UK 2002-2007) CR-V
2003 CR-V EX K24 I'd been getting a P1259 for some time and ruled out the oil level. It just wouldn't go away so I bit the bullet and rolled up my sleeves. I replaced the gasket and found the old one pretty full and clogged. It was a pain in the butt to get to, but I managed to do it. Was...
