SUBJECT:BRAKE BOOSTER PUSHROD CLEARANCE ADJUSTMENT/CALIBRATE ?

Hello All,

Q. Is it ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY to perform the Mster Cylinder 'PUSHROD Clearance' step ? {Section 19-18 thru 19-20} in the 2002-2003 CR-V Service Manual

A. ?

Q. Especially if the new Master Cylinder is a HONDA/NISSIN OEM swap out ?

A. ?

Thanks in advance for 'ANY and ALL' feedback and opinions !

You should either:

1. Measure the distance that the old pushrod sticks out and assure that the new one is exactly the same length.

or

2. Disconnect the old cylinder's pushrod and install it on the new cylinder. (There is usually a clip inside the rubber boot for the pushrod)

(Even if Honda and Nissan used the same master cylinder, the distance from the cylinder mount to the pedal might be different between the two brands/applications)
