The batteries are dying in my keys and I went a little overboard and decided to purchase new keys. My intention is to swap out the inner modules, putting the new modules with fresh batteries and unworn buttons into my currently cut keys.

I've found the instructions for programming the remote portion of the key and am fully confident I can do that myself. My worry is the transponder and immobilizer, which I've read must be handled by the dealer. Is that found in this inner module or is that imbedded in the exterior? My concern is I'll end up with keys that are properly cut and can operate the locks but can't run the car as the transponder isn't programmed.

Any insight is appreciated! Thanks!!

Personally, I'd just replace the batteries and be done with it ! No sense creating a problem when one doesn't exist !! JMO. Craig
