Hello,
I am a happy owner of a Honda CRV 2.0. 2009. The car has full service history, I noticed that each service was changed oil 10w-40. Is it normal? For me they should use 5w-30.
Welcome to the forum. Check out the owners manual to see what oil you're supposed to be using. You can also look at your oil cap and it will say what oil to use.
I agree with Rick. It does not sound normal. Unless you are in a hot climate that calls for 10w40. Do not wait long as this will damage your engine if they poured in the wrong viscosity. As what Coastie said double check your owner's manual. Let us know.
Yes the manual does show other approved viscosity grades; however, you will note the recommended one stated on the engine filler cap.
No harm is done using those viscosities listed in the manual for your particular temperature ranges. Most usually the recommended one will cover owners usual temp ranges.
I just installed a tow hitch (Curt 13555) on my ‘08 2wd CR-V and noticed the left rear shock is leaking. Does anyone have an opinion on the best shock replacement? I will be doing some moderate towing, not near the 1500 lbs max.
If I'm not mistaken, is the hood security switch located in the hood latch? It appears so but, I'm double-checking before I start my next adventure. (The blow-by-blow details will follow soon!)
I have a 2009 CRV that was maintained very well by the former owners.
I bought the CRV when it had 90,000 miles and a full service was done.
I have only put 3900 miles on it and the oil light symbol came on (the little wrench and it said 15%)
If those Hondas have a 5000 mile oil life, why did...
Personally I LOVE my Romik running board on my 3rd gen V. I'm thinking of upgrading my stock stereo to an Android auto "head unit" (as well as speakers), and maybe xenon headlights, etc. Can anyone please share what kind of aftermarket accessories that you purchased for your V, and maybe share...
Hello, I am the happy owner of a 2011 CR-v. The ignition lock cylinder failed and I could not turn the ignition to start the car. I had the ignition switch replaced at the Honda dealership. The new key has no function buttons on it and my old key fob will not work now. Why? how do I get my power...
