Has anyone here tried to install 16" rims with winter tires on a 2015 CRV EX? These come standard with 17" wheels and my dealer says I need to get 17" for winters or else they will need to recalibrate every tire change. The 2015s have indirect TPMS and a recalibate button so I'm thinking I can do it myself. Has anyone done this successfully before?

No problem using 16" rims. 2015 CRV LX models come with them. Just make sure you get rims that fit. No problem recalibrating the TPMS. Just check your owner's guide.

16 inch wheels will work fine, just get the right size tires so the overall diameter matches the 17 inchers you have now. The owner's manual will show what 16 tire sizes come from the factory, or go to TireRack.com and see what fits best (hint: look for a tire with the same revs/mile as your OEM 17s).

Recalibration is no big deal: it should be done every time tires are rotated or replaced anyway.
