Good Afternoon all,

Does anyone have any experience with an aftermarket trailer hitch on a touring C RV? I know honda sells a relocation kit for the hands free kick sensor for the Honda hitch but will it work with other aftermarket hitches? I want to buy the etrailer hitch.

I saw a thread on here somewhere about another guy that bought a draw tite hitch and his kick sensor worked fine.

Have you watched the etrailer videos for both the Drawtite and Curt hitches?......bet your answer is there. Most of the Curt hitch (#13397) is hidden by the facia.....most of the Drawtite hitch crossbar hangs below the facia thus being visible.

OK, I have a 2017 Touring. I bought the Curt hitch (mainly because it hides better) from eTrailer (wonderful people). Then I had to buy a kit designed for the Odyssey (Honda part) to move the sensor out of the way of the hitch. My Honda Dealer printed out the instructions for installing the Odyssey part. Then I had my guy (H Shop in Kirkland WA) install it all. He is not a dealer but a one man Honda Specialist. The best mechanic within a hundred miles! He had never installed this set up but he got it done. Works fine but . . . get your money out! If I remember correctly the Odyssey kit was $100 and the install was $400 but that's still half price from the dealer.

A guy on e-trailer reviewed the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" , and has a Touring, and said that this hitch did not affect the auto tailgate;

I think I need to get this.
Just to be clear, one review says the hitch did not affect the tailgate sensor, another says the sensor doesn't work after installation while another says that you have to be very selective as to where you place your foot.

This answer, from an etrailer rep, addresses the issue directly:

I would also like to know the answer, as I am in need of a trailer hitch for my 2019 CR-V Touring.

Here is what I found... Hands Free Power Tailgate Sensor Adapter for Trailer Hitch
