Hello. Im new here and im going to purchase my dads 06 crv 4wd from him in 2 weeks and i plan on swapping the rims out for a bigger 17 inch steel wheels from a 2010 ford fusion se (the steelies). I was wondering if there wouod be any complications with upping the wheel size and not raising the suspension, adding spacers or anything like that. The bolt size is the same for both rims i just want to know if its going to eat through tires like it’s nothing and or ruin the steering

Compare the wheels for each car on a site like this: You also need to verify the hub size (look up 'hub-centric'). Offset can differ, as well.

Are you maintaining the same overall diameter by fitting 'thinner' rubber? Here's a site for comparing any sizes you are considering.
