Hey folks. So I sat on the CRV for a bit before diving into repairs. The car runs and drives so nicely, I thought I’d try and tackle some of the rust issues.

I pulled the steps off, rocker trim, and this is what I found:








I cut out the entire section of bad metal, clean up the rest for welding:






Picked up some 18ga cold rolled, hand formed/bent it (4 separate pieces), got it racked up:




Seam sealed everything, applied 2 coats of rubberized undercoating, re-installed the trim and steps:






All in all I think it came out ok. Body work isn’t my strong point, but I’m happy with it.

I should note, this work was only on the passenger side. The driver side is in great shape!
