I bought today a 2000 CR-V and now the D light on the instrument panel is not lighting up. It did for half a day. All other lights, P, R, N, 2, 1 work. I suppose the D is most used gear, and car is 18 years old so that can happen.

Gears work normally so I don't believe there is anything wrong, just the bulb.

Now i need advice on how to remove the instrument panel so that I don't break anything. And the type of the offending bulb would be a great info so I could buy it before I remove the instrument panel :)

Ok, thank you for that :) found service manual from net, which had all the info on how to remove the gauges. Just for quickfix replaced D bulb with 1 bulb, the 1 gear position will not be used at all.
